Green Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 I would just pick one protein if you want to save urself work Like just make it a beef stir fry. Put some oil in a pan, heat it up, cook the beef a little till it browns, then add some soy sauce and sugar, then add the vegatables then stir in egg and pasta... just look for YOUTUBE videos about beef noodle stir fry or what ever good luck... I also recomend you make a salad and desert... u could just buy tofutti for desert its like ice cream for lactose intolerant people.
Shakz Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 I hope I don't botch this, haha. Tomorrow she's also in anticipation for when she stays over (I told her 50% of something new I wanted to try in the bedroom and she's hooked on trying to figure out what it is). But I redid my room layout and bought a few nice scented candles which look really slick with the lights off. Oh, I see. That explains the linguini.
Author VertexSquared Posted June 7, 2010 Author Posted June 7, 2010 Oh, I see. That explains the linguini. LMFAO hahahahha
Morals Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 No offence.. but is it me or posting on a love forum asking for advice on what a guy should cook for his girlfriend is.. kinda gay Nope, you're just immature.
Author VertexSquared Posted June 7, 2010 Author Posted June 7, 2010 Alright so I managed to buy myself some time tonight to cook and prepare, whew! Is there any specific order to how I should cook all this stuff? 1. Raw chicken 2. Raw beef 3. Shrimp (they're currently pink, peeled, and sittin' pretty in the fridge) 4. Bag of veggies! 5. Linguine I think I'm also going to get some wine (she loves wine) and garlic bread.

Linguine I think I'm also going to get some wine (she loves wine) and garlic bread. The linguine will take the longest time most likely, though it varies by pack. My guess is about 8-10 minutes after you've brought the water to the boil. Although if you have the time to pop to the store and get ANY sort of oriental noodles, I would recommend that or even using rice instead- you will very much notice that it's pasta you're eating with your stir-fry.* The chicken will take the most time of the stir-fried items, and is the most important to cook through - no pink in the middle at all. Probably about 7-10 minutes in a stir fry. The beef should take about 5-6 minutes, and the vegetables should take about 3-5 minutes (try not to let them get too soggy.) The shrimp should be cooked last, and will only take a couple of minutes at most. You should make sure to keep them as cold as possible until you're ready to cook them, without being frozen ofc. Once seasoned and added to a pan with a bit of oil, they should only take 1-2 minutes - you can tell when they're opaque all the way through. Hope that helps - good luck! Edit - saw the mention of garlic bread, and just wanted to make another suggestion with some of your ingredients. If you don't mind saving the beef and chicken for another day, you could knock together a salad, get your garlic bread, and make a Shrimp and Mushroom linguine. I hope I'm allowed to link this, but I found a recipe that looks like it shouldn't be hard to follow and seems to have great reviews - http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Shrimp-and-Mushroom-Linguini-with-Creamy-Cheese-Herb-Sauce/Detail.aspx Once again, good luck! Author VertexSquared Posted June 7, 2010 Author Posted June 7, 2010 Arghhh!! That recipe looks awesome, and now I am conflicted. Now I am debating whether or not I should hold off on the beef. Some people on that page said that adding chicken is also good for that recipe. Either that or I need to find some oriental noodles before I start piling in the meat for stir-fry. How long does beef last in the fridge before it's not worth eating anymore? I don't want to hold off too long on the beef, but it's not like we're going to be able to eat everything tonight or anything.

It does slightly depend on whether it's whole/cut/ground/etc but the beef should have a date on the packaging telling you how long it will last. If you bought it yesterday, I'm willing to guess it will at least last uncooked until tomorrow or the next day. Or if you put the beef in the freezer now, it should last for months.
