It's down to zero hour. My graduation ceremony is tomorrow, and I have tentatively managed to settle visa, accommodation, job, and travel plans for the 6-month working holiday in the bf's country. It's a scary thought, leaving for an unfamiliar place for such a long period of time, for the first time in my life, but I'm more excited than scared. :)

Am crossing my fingers that all goes as planned - if it does, I will be booking my plane tickets in the next week or so and will be heading there at the end of this month. :)

Help me pleaseplease I need more crossed fingers! :p And thanks for all the support, advice and help you guys have given me over the past 2 years of distance. We have had our up and downs, been through trials and tribulations that I believe would have made many other couples just give up. We have shared the best of times, and gone through the darkest of moments, and emerged from it learning so very, very much.

I  you guys.

That's great news Elswyth. :bunny:

I'm so glad you made it through. I remember how tough it was for you at times.

I will happily keep my fingers crossed for you, though I'm sure you won't need it. You've come this far and it's downhill all the way from here.

You will have a wonderful six months with your boyfriend.:love:

Don't forget to keep us all posted. :)

Thanks guys! :) I'm especially nervous about popping in right in the middle of winter, since I've lived in a tropical country all my life. But meh, I'd always complained ceaselessly about my country being too hot. ;)

Spookie: No, most likely not. There are a few rather complicated problems which would make it a bad idea, including landlord/tenancy arrangements as he lives in a semi-university flat under contract. Also, we had a bit of trouble the last time we were cooped up together in a tiny room with no personal space whatsoever for 2 months. So he said that we could stay over at each others' place sometimes but it was best I officially rent my own separate room (all rental there has to be done by official contract) and that he could cover the cost if need be.

A lot of this going around lately. :p Congrats, 2 years is a long time to go through this and I admire that you both got this far. So many don't.

Enjoy your time together and I think it goes without saying to appreciate each moment you won't have to be apart anymore. :)

Thanks again, guys! :)

It's all been going pretty well, and I should be able to book my tickets in the next few days! Am extremely excited, going through pictures of scenery/places there and drooling over them. :p And planning creative ways to, uh, jump his bones. Heh. ;)

A few financial issues cropped up, though, which I've placed in another thread so as not to derail this. :)

The flight has been booked!

It takes 16 hours including transit, but the main part of the flight is 10 hours! Plus this is the first international flight I've ever taken. Gah. I will survive though. :) Seeing as he did that to see me for 2 WEEKS, I'm sure it'll be worth me going through that to see him for 6 months! ;)

Safe travels, Elswyth.
