collegemommy Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 I haven't been on here (other than lurking) in about 2-3 weeks. The last thing I posted was that my ex wanted me to come over to his place one night. Well, I never went over but he did come over to my place. We had a long talk and decided to give this another go. The first few days were rocky because I was unsure if he had in fact ended things with the girl he was dating (days before he said he dropped the relationship to give me his full attention). After she sent several text messages to him, which he showed me, they were in fact done. I can say that we are a thousand times happier than we were before the split. We both are actually making an effort. The kids are happier, we are happier, and his parents are happier since they can go back to resuming the grandparent role. I went through almost 8 weeks of hell. By the end of those weeks, I was starting to become stronger, and my pain was slowly starting to fade. I would have been fine without him but I made the choice to work things out. We are in counseling. We are trying to get to the root of all of our issues and resolve them, not just cover them up. He has shown me that he is willing to make changes in order for us to live our lives together. I'm made some changes as well... I can say that are wedding planning is back on. Before the break up, we had no date set, and I wasn't in a hurry to get married. We now have a date of June 4, 2011. 1 year from today. Thank you to everyone on this site for support, and excellent advice during my roughest time. You really have no idea how much of support system LS was for me. I don't know where I would have been without you all!!!
