So here I am, tired and stressed out, on my own, separated. I need to take a vacation, something I'm not good at in the best of circumstances. Now I want to do one on my own.

So I googled the subject and mostly I come up with what look like "hooker tours" and gay cruises.

Go on a cruise. Just a regular cruise. Not a "singles cruise" or a "gay cruise"...just a regular old cruise...

I went on a cruise by myself last Christmas after my breakup, and I had an amazing time...met some great people who I still talk to now...I actually talked to one last night and we're trying to plan for another cruise this winter...

I went on a cruise last year (with W). It wasn't bad, but I don't think the cruise thing is necessarily for me. I feel really cooped up, especially on sea days.

I've never been on a cruise, but I know someone who swears by them as a single woman.

She went on quite a nice package to Italy relatively on the cheap.

Best trip I ever took solo was driving the length of Route 66 Chicago to Santa Monica! Tons to see and a real GUY trip although I had always planned to do it with the ex as well. Plenty of resources available on the net. (already been spanked for posting links so if your interested PM me.) Also some good books out there with maps and lesser known sights to see. "Legendary Route 66" by Michael and Gyvel Witzel is the one I have.

oops. You were posting you don't like them as I was posting.

Well, go someplace you definitely wanted to see before the ride is all over!

For me, what I haven't seen yet so want to, is to fly into San Fran, then rent a car and visit the redwoods and napa valley tours.

Now I'm trying to remember if you're from CA, lol

Although Italy was spectacular for me, Yellowstone was the place that made me cry. There's a canyon fall called Painter's Point that took my breath away.

I think I would like to be around people, but not on a "hook-up" kind of deal, but around other singles, so there's not that odd, third-wheel thing, or the "back home we have this friend you'd really like" conversations going on.

Money is not a problem. I'm not filthy rich, but can afford to do stuff.

Ride across the USA on a bicycle. There is also lots of stuff about that. Don't know how much time you have.....

My buddy likes to go to Mexico & hang out. Finds lots of people just to party with.

There is Las Vegas as well..

go to a big city with lots to see and lots to do. I can't find the link, but they had a list of the best cities to visit for single people and I remember seeing cities such as Seattle, Denver, and Chicago.

If you've got the funds to do it with?

Go to the Phillipines or Austraia ~women there love American mem.

Its becuse so many were killed during WWII, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War (Yea! A lot of folks think that Vietnam was an American War ~ but the Aussies and NZ were there BIG time as were the South Koreans and the British. Its a 20 to 1 ratio,
