I do wish to thank all those that posted to my threads.....saw me through....Gunny, Nob, LisaUK, FL98, FloridaPad, Perry, YGG...you should be my counselor and many others. I go back to work next week...school went well and I finally graduated, so time to get out there and do what real folks do. Gunny, I promise you that I won't be beating myself up anymore, and though some folks might think it's wrong....it's time to get busy living before living moves right by me. I don't have a happy ending to give anyone, but after being a doormat for two men for over 20 years, I have learned a valuable lesson. If I don't respect myself, no one else will...understanding that is a two-way street, but a kick to the curb will be much quicker in the future for a man who doesn't show me that mutual respect. Gunny, Nob - you guys have my email address, keep in touch and let me know how you are doing....promise I will do the same. I wish you all the best and hope that you find happiness somewhere in your heart, or at least some peace that you can't change the past but you can make your future a better one. Trippi1432

Eighteen and half years without a damn thing to show for it? Starting all over again with two different women. Having to go to ChinaMart, (WalMart) and buy all that crap that I had already bought once before. Damn that! Can't afford to keep on going that route. So I took some time out (OK a lot of time out!) and got to thinking about how I wanted to live my life. Damn that sitting around the nursing home talking about my first, second, third, fourth, and fifth ex-wife. Time to get back into school and quit being a fool. Funny things about fools? You don't see too many old fools walking around? That's because you don't get to be old being a fool! I hope you well and the best that life has to offer. Live Life large and to its top! Your older and wiser now ~ more experienced ~ and I pity the fool of a man that tries to "play you" But cut yourself some slack. I got married when I was 22, and I was just young, dumb, in-experienced, didn't have a clue what being a good husband or father was, let alone about being married? For the most part? My @zz was just plain old ignorant! Now the difference between being ignorant and stupid? Is when your stupid? And you know better than to do something or not do something? You do it anyway. Ignorant? You just didn't know any better ~ and that comes mostly from inexperience and a lack of knowledge. Knowledge is KING! And know I don't have your e-mail address, or if I do its lost somewhere in my e-mail folders ~ so you've got a PM coming your way. Guns

Thanks H&D, that's nice to hear and you have helped in many ways as well. I know a lot of people reference serenity in the AA 12-step program; however, that is not why this rings out for me. Serenity is also related to the Buddhist term Passaddhi, meaning to find serenity following the seven factors to enlightenment. More for meditation than the traditional steps referenced in the US. I have enjoyed getting to know you and stepka - if you would like to stay in touch, Gunny has my email address - I have no problems with him giving it to either of you. It's just more important to focus on the positive things in life, even when the negative tends to beat us up side the head like a baseball bat.
