NoLove Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 Ok people think of me as kind of mean. I have a lot of friends but some people at my school think of me as mean. Like I'm a super laid back person and if I know you I do talk a lot. But I'm really sarcastic and I have kind of a dry sense of humor. Like I'll make a joke but because I'm just not a bubbly person it doesn't have the same delivery. Some girls in my class find me really funny and they like try to sit at my table so wecan just talkand crack jokes. But today on the bus this girl was saying how her friend called me a douche and they were like yea (my name here) is more cool if you get to know him. I don't really wanna change my personality but I understand how I might come off as a douche. So do girls like jerks or what? Oh and I'm not emo or anything a athlete and I do smile a lot.
Feelin Frisky Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 Alot of girls are attracted to the dangerous type--not necessarily mean. I think the dynamic is really that they like to chase and derive a big ego boost when an indifferent adventure hunk snaps his fingers for her. It's a nature dynamic that goes way back to evolution. Younger women especially think with thier hormones and want "position" in the social order in which they live. If they're lucky they'll grow out of it before getting real hooked up with a future jail bird or hitter.
carhill Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 From the looks of things around here, a prison record helps, but really limits job opportunities. Probably better to stay in school, achieve and worry less about what girls think and more about what you want to do with your life. Good luck
Green Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 You sound like you are in Middle school or very early High School. If girls are mentioning your name and having conversations about you that is probably a good thing. I don't think they even debated me or knew my name.

Okay, here's the breakdown. Mean is kind of a broad term these day. It is liberally tossed around. For instance, if someone who is otherwise nice stands up for himself against a bully, he can be called "mean" as well. If we are talking about someone who is just an angry person to others, then no, you're not going to find that many people who like that. But if you are a kind hearted person who stands his ground when need be and will not let your friends get messed over either, then you're okay. In the end, people will like what they like. There are other factors to being liked then nice and mean.
You'reasian Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 Younger women are catty. Not your job to change em or try to change your perception best thing to do is continue to be yourself, have fun and enjoy life. Draw the fine line between women whose company you enjoy, stick with em and leave the other ones out. If they genuinely extend the olive branch, go for it.
Lakeside_runner Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 Well, there are really two options: 1. Be a bad boy and attract all the girls while you're young. Realize later that you screwed over your life and have no outlook at a good job. OR 2. Be a not-so-bad boy (a regular guy) that is confident and not a jerk. Stay in school, don't have a police record and get a good job in the future. I'd always opt for #2.

Green Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 How do you figure? Because the answer to your question "do girls like mean guys?"... Yes ... they do if they are talking about you being mean.
