They will NOT analyze and agonize over the breakup like the dumpees. They will NOT think that it was the biggest mistake that they had made by breaking up with you because there are better things out there for them. That was why they broke up with you in the first place. They have moved on with their lives and so should we... So stop hoping and waiting for the big touching finale when they beg for your forgiveness and tell you that you are THE ONE for them because... There will NOT be Hollywood moments in real life . . . **Screw you Pretty Woman**
Nikki Sahagin Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 I really do believe movies and stories have completely warped my sense of reality when it comes to relationships. Its like i've gorged on lies and the real world is not quite so nice and neat. Its true that most dumpers will never come back, and even those that do...well things might not work out again or there reasons may not be the beautiful ones we hope for. I think its just so very, very hard to accept this. I don't even know that I want my ex back, but sometimes I still hope for him.
Cantcope Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 I know that for me, I know I shouldn't have him back. Every time I'm with him, I wonder what I even see. But do I want him back? I think so, but I realize it's because I think I just want validation that I'm a good enough person that he WANTS me back. I feel that when I meet somerone else that gives me what I want, I'll be able to let him go. I'm just trying to search within myself to find that person. I wish I didn't feel like I need someone to want me in order to feel complete. And yea, movies suck. All the false hope and wonder could kill you! lol

There will NOT be Hollywood moments in real life Thank you for posting this! This is so true! Holding on to false hope only drags out the healing process. Whenever I see or hear something that triggers the thought my ex might comeback, I immediately tell myself to stop bc it's not going to happen. Life is not a fairytale. For people hanging on to false hope, accepting the relationship is done and over will set you free and start you on your journey to heal!!!
