Livelovelearn Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 so if you all kept up with me, basically my ex of 3 years, broke up with me, and ignored me after i found out that during our odd times where he said he needed space, he was seeing someone else. Any way I recently go in contact with him and he completely denied being with that girl. I will say that I wasnt perfect in the relationship and there should have been things i could have done differently (stop being so insecure and paranoid). I learned alot from him, (first love) and i still kind of have feelings for him. His bday is coming up and i wonder if i should send him an email or a little messaging wishing him a happy birthday? im not a negative bitter person...but is it a smart move? will i look desperate or anything along those lines. He hasnt reached out to me..but i mean its his bday...
USMCHokie Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 Don't use his birthday as an excuse to reach out to him. Here's the test to determine whether you should send him a bday message: would you send him a message on any other day of the year? Bottom line: No bday message if you are rocking NC...
Author Livelovelearn Posted May 27, 2010 Author Posted May 27, 2010 Don't use his birthday as an excuse to reach out to him. I have been doing NC, its been over a week that i havent texted his phone. I would text him during holidays because we were always big on holidays, but i guess thats part of the past. You are right, i wont message him for his birthday, hell he forgot mine this year anyway and we were together at the time, he was just screwing another chick behind my back.
northstar1 Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 No, no messages. When you are broken up and doing NC, that means everything. Your ex isn't with you, they are now essentially a stranger and you owe them no gestures at this point. Say you send them an email or text......in the back of your mind you will be hoping it shocks some thoughts into their head about you. And if they either don't reply, or reply back days later with a friendly note, you will feel crushed. Trust me on this, I made that mistake years ago and I felt terrible for days and it set me back.
