Hi guys,

I met someone earlier this week. I'm attracted to him and he's been calling and texting me. He is showing serious interest & our phone conversations have been over an hour long. Were going on our first date. That being said, I just got out of a almost 4 year relationship no more than two months ago, so I am not looking for a relationship. I would like to continue to get to know him and just have fun, nothing serious. So, when is a good time to tell him I'm not looking for anything serious? Is it best to make this clear on the first date? Do i just say that I like him and would like to continue hanging out, but I'm not looking for a relationship & just want to have fun and focus on my goals

If I was the guy I would want you to be straight forwar with me. I hate women that lead people on.

You might like him an genuinely just want to have fun but most likely you will never hear form him again.

This is a classic let down approach from women who arent interested, so whether its true or not he will understand and move on.

Just be upfront.

Tell him immediately! He deserves to know.

OP, could you clarify what you mean by 'fun'?

I ask because, generally, straight people involve themselves with the opposite sex to have, along with 'fun', intimacy and sexual pleasure.

From my male perspective, now at the tail end of a divorce, if I'm dating a lady, it's because I want companionship, intimacy and sex. If I want to 'have fun', I grab a beer with my buddies and turn some wrenches on the race car. I really don't have those kinds of things 'in common' with a woman.

Be honest with yourself and with the guy. Guys don't date ladies to 'have fun' in the platonic, aw shucks, nudge, nudge, gee whiz sense of the phrase. Expect that. Communicate as appropriate. Good luck :)

I agree.

My interpretation of "having fun" with a woman is basically playing the field without having to worry about dating one persona dn being tied down in a relationship.

OP if you wnt to have fun, go to a bar.
