Engadget Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 This is not quite true, thinner people tend to be more successful, we know they are healthier, and they tend to have more fullfilling relationships. It is probably just because they take the bull by the horns rather than just let things go. Well I've seen one study on the first point, but more fulfilling relationships? That's not really something you can measure, so...what?
reddog4321 Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 I'll agree with this. And I didn't want to say it but I have seen the dynamics of overweight/normal girl friendships a number of times. The normal girl always tells her overweight friend she envies her boobs. What other nice thing is she going to come up with to say?
gamma1 Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 I don't think you are a liar... I started this thread because of another thread made by a MAN. Get over yourself dude, I'm not going to come up to you or a woman you are dating and put any one down for how they look... But I'm more then entitled to make this thread and talk about the ammount of DECEPTION/word play photo play ect. that goes on around sugar coating obesity. There is nothing wrong with liking overweight women, there are probably many men who do. And in fact, if you are lucky enough that your tastes are that way, you pretty much have your choice, so that is even better. But that isn't what this thread is about. You two should only date thin women because you clearly perfer only thin women. It's strange how you both are fixated on overweight women though.
theBrokenMuse Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 Those two quotes were not completly connected. You've force be to go back 5 pages to find what I quoted when I said other people agree with me... If you look back green, you will see that I quoted that quote directly in my response and you responded about a completely separate issue and when I point that out, you say this? Did you even look at what I was quoting when you responded the first time? Obviously not otherwise you would have never of conflated it to mean anything about the popularity of the word. This was what I was writing about not being the only person who feels it is an issue... Which means precisely NOTHING. That is the logical fallacy as has been pointed out to you. You write it off as a non-issue... You are either purposely misunderstanding me or have some sort of mental block. I even clarified what I was saying for you. Generally people do not care when words are adapted to mean different things such as cool (as in cold) to cool (as in hip) except when it comes to cases such as these. I don't know how to possibly make that sentiment any more clear. I'm saying IT IS AN ISSUE That is your opinion. AND OTHER PEOPLE WERE AGREEING... And that is irrelevant for the reasons previously stated. GET OVER YOURSELF. You relize how superior you think you are. Yay for ad hominems! You don't even conversate, you just try to disguise you insults and emotions as logic. you sure are happy to state this but don't seem to want to actually show how this has been done. I mean if it's as incredibly fallacious as you say it should be a cake walk to show how it's all an illogical bunch of useless jargon. You are actualy quite sensless and incapable of anylyzing anything I write Considering how many times I've had to clarify my answers after stating them quite plainly for you I consider this to be true irony. as all you do is insult my reading comprehensionYes, every single post I have written has pertained to nothing other than the repetitive rehashing of your ability to fully comprehend what you read. You think I would have fit a few points about the subject matter in there at some point at least! and try to point out flaws in my logic. That is how an argument against an idea someone has presented tends to work... IS IT THAT ILOGICAL TO NOT FIND FAT WOMEN SHAPELY... You don't have to, it's your opinion and you are more than welcome to it. What the **** does that have to do with a single thing I've written about? I need a drink.
SteveC80 Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 it is what it is, fattnes is an unattractive trait just like shortness on man is an unattractive trait. Luckily theres too many people in this world so people have to settle for both traits but are never truly attracted to it
theBrokenMuse Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 Luckily theres too many people in this world so people have to settle for both traits but are never truly attracted to it Actually, yes there are people attracted to it otherwise there wouldn't be pr0n sites for midgets or fat people or whatever else tickles their fancy.

Luckily theres too many people in this world so people have to settle for both traits but are never truly attracted to it Really maybe you can explain then why back when my current partner had two women who were interested in him at the same time one being thin and me being on the larger side he wanted me over her?
Blade Runner Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 (edited) it is what it is, fattnes is an unattractive trait just like shortness on man is an unattractive trait. Luckily theres too many people in this world so people have to settle for both traits but are never truly attracted to it[/Quote]First of all it's a little easier to lose weight than it is to magically gain some height. Secondly, if you're a girl that is 5'3, you might find a 5'7 man to be just perfect. It be be an "unattractive" trait for some women, and that is absolutely fine. And I'm sure there's plenty of men who find overweight women to be attractive, or maybe they don't care. You can't take it down to weight, height, etc. There are OTHER factors that can lead a persons decision to go that way. Edited June 28, 2010 by Blade Runner

Engadget Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 There's one study apiece I've found that say attractive people and thin people earn more, but tall people too?
reddog4321 Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 There's one study apiece I've found that say attractive people and thin people earn more, but tall people too? Please theres biolgical reasons for wanting a tall men plus they make more money and have more respect theres none for wanting skinny women,as a beautiful curvy women i dont feel i should have to be stuck with short guys You are correct, it is a biological reason. A taller man may be indicative that (1) he had a quality and nutricious upbringing and (2) he projects more power and safety. Neither of these really make any sense in our culture today but that is the biology of it. And there are biological reasons why not many people are attracted to overweight people, namely because it is a marker of ill-health. We want to mate with women who are healthy and have the hihgest chance of passing on our offspring. A woman that has a high chance of getting diabetes or some other obesity related illness obviously will not be attractive. Larger women were in vogue at different periods in history like the ancient greek and roman BBW (where the concept came from), which incidently look nothing like the women who call themselves BBW today. The ancient greek and roman depictions show large truly curvy women who are muscular, strong, and sexy, but you'll notice, they have a thin waist relative to their hips, they do not have rolls of belly they got from eating too many carbs and sugar.
reddog4321 Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 There's one study apiece I've found that say attractive people and thin people earn more, but tall people too? Actually taller men have been found to produce more children and be less likely to be single later in life. They also tend to earn more. Google it and you will see.
dreamingoftigers Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 I have been obese since I was young. I have never been single for very long. My breasts are also not misshapen in any way, I find that disgusting. I think that that may be a perception on behalf on men who have never even seen an obese woman naked. Almost all of my exes have said something along the lines of "wow they are actually really nice" and have mentioned that they have heard something like overweight women having drooping boobs etc. I would love to be thin like other women and hae had thyroid trouble most of my life. I was able to lose 70 lbs two years ago and I lost about 6" off of my bust line and only 1/2" off of my waist .

samspade Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 I love dating women with great curves a.k.a. great tits & a$$. Alas it bothers me that people these day who refer to dating a woman with curves actualy mean dating a thick women a.k.a. a woman with a fat a$$ and fat tits... I sincerly believe that a thin woman with great round shapely perky breasts and wide hips and big but looks better and more curvy then a heavy set woman who is more comonly refered to as being curvy... It's just wrong that Curvy is usualy used to describe less curvy heavy set women. "Curvy" entered the lexicon when feminazis started fighting the notion that taking care of your health and your body were bad ideas, and that women should be proud of their "body types" no matter how overweight. Here in 2010 this translates to frustrated fat chicks who can't understand why they can't find a good man. Ironically they make no bones about wanting a "successful" man. Imagine if men were told to be proud of their lack of ambition and productivity and to be "proud" of their lot in life. (Sadly, some men are resigned to this.) You can call it apples & oranges but you're wrong - the standards of attraction for each sex are consistent no matter how society and culture change. Deal with it.
sally4sara Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 Some people are going to like thin folks. Some people are going to like meatier folks. Same for every shade of difference between there. For instance, I can enjoy looking at a fit guy with almost zero body fat, but I don't want to have sex with him. BTDT, and had the bruises from his hipbones on my inner thighs to show for it. Guys with a bit more body fat on them FEEL better. If you know what you like and can get it, whats the problem? Especially if you already have what you prefer in your partner. Its not like there are swarms of whatever people you don't want to have sex with rolling up in your house and forcing themselves on you.
SincereOnlineGuy Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 It's just wrong that Curvy is usualy used to describe less curvy heavy set women. Yeah, it's wrong that "Kleenex" is used to describe any sort of similar personal tissue too. What's your point?
Thermometer Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 Yeah, I have no idea what to put when I do online dating. I'm a 36C (Full) and a size 6 in pants. I'm not fat, medically speaking...but I don't know how to define it. I would say I'm curvy, but I guess that means fat.
NellieandAlexis Posted July 10, 2010 Posted July 10, 2010 i am skinny or slim or piete or whatever people calling it now. I weigh 85 pounds and im 5'1. The only reason im skinny is cause im nautrally like that cause of genes. But otherwise i eat everyday. i dont have to work for it.

If your a size 6 your def no wheres near being fat! besides its individual choice personal tastes vary unless were talking to extremes its like saying some ones "Hot" but some one else may not agree words are just that words and at the end of the day we shouldn't let them define us as people.

JK This brings up a interesting point if some people can eat like horses and never gain a pound is it that much of a stretch to think that some overweight people are also prone to be that size genetically? I mean im not talking about some one who weighs over 300 pounds or nothing of course but people who are not huge but not thin ether?

I mean im not talking about some one who weighs over 300 pounds or nothing of course but people who are not huge but not thin ether? I think that is the case however carbs are the multiplying factor. We spent hundreds of thousands, if not millions of years as a species where the only carbohydrates in our diet came from veggies, fruits, and nuts. And contrary to the vegetarian claims, no bush people, extinct or extant, are vegetarian, but eat medium to large amounts of animal proteins and fats. Since the agricultural revolutions, grains have been made non-poisonous, edible, and absurdly plentiful. Then add on sugar in the last few hundred years and you have the current endocrine system epidemic called obesity. In my own case, just 18 months ago I was headed to obesity at 210lbs on a 5'9" frame. I always worked out and had a lot of muscle, but there was a lot of fat there too. I stopped eating grains and sugars and lost 30lbs in just 2 months (and kept it off) all while eating ridiculous amounts of fatty meats, eggs, cheeses, nuts, etc... Now closing in on 10% bodyfat. So I think a lot of it is self-inflicted obesity. Carbs and sugar are addictions and they seriously mess with insulin and your endocrine system in general. But I think some people are more genetically able to handle the carbs than others. (I'm sure when grains start being produced, I bet many people died very quickly)
