Green Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 I love dating women with great curves a.k.a. great tits & a$$. Alas it bothers me that people these day who refer to dating a woman with curves actualy mean dating a thick women a.k.a. a woman with a fat a$$ and fat tits... I sincerly believe that a thin woman with great round shapely perky breasts and wide hips and big but looks better and more curvy then a heavy set woman who is more comonly refered to as being curvy... It's just wrong that Curvy is usualy used to describe less curvy heavy set women.
carhill Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 When did Curvy Start meaning Fat? IDK, but it certainly was a 'code word' for fat/overweight when I first became introduced to non-in-person, e.g newspaper, telephone and later internet, dating/introductions in the late 80's. I can't recall a single exception. I married a 'curvy' lady. Later, the phrase 'a few extra pounds' seemed to replace curvy. If you remember Marilyn Monroe and Jayne Mansfield, that was 'traditional' curvy IMO, irrespective of their star status or personal charisma.

Its a 'code word' for fat that is verry subjective.... you could be taling about a woman with a few extra pounds or many extra pounds.
quankanne Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 when people bought into the media and advertising pitch that women must weight under 110 pounds and wear a size 4 and under in clothing ... Stick-thin chickies with skeletal figures are in, with fake honking breasts a HUGE plus. I sincerely believe that a thin woman with great round shapely perky breasts and wide hips and big butt looks better and more curvy you must be under the age of 35 to have that kind of definition; as Carhill points out, women like Jayne Mansfield and Marilyn Monroe were absolute sex-bombs in their day, and fit my definition of curvy.
carhill Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 IME, without exception, the ladies who described themselves as 'curvy', and it was a physical sub-type I did date, were 20 to 50% over what they (not I) considered to be their ideal body weight. As an example, at her lowest weight, stbx was 170 on a 5'1" frame. This was typical IME. Of course, everyone has their own 'definition'.
Ihavenoidea Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 It started when fat women used the word curvy to describe themselves to boost their self esteem or whatever or somehow justify to themselves that they weren't fat. idk All I know is TRUE curvy women I like a lot. Love em. I love a big ass and big boobs, but I dont love a big gut. Sorry

Upon which, usually concerning things such as this, is highly subjective. I followed you up to the point up tried to relate 'thick' with being fat. You lost me at that point.
tincanman99 Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 For a long time I could not figure out what curvy meant and than I realized curvy = fat . Beyonce is curvy but not fat. Most women who describe themselves as curvy today are FAT. End of story. It seems most web sites have "a few extra lbs" and "curvy". From my observation, average today = fat as well. So you have the following: average = fat curvy = even fatter a few extra lbs = fatter than curvy over weight = huge

Why do they always have to bring up Beyonce like she is one of them. I mean I realize she isn't skinny but she is by no means what overweight people are talking about when they say curvy IMO
Author Green Posted May 24, 2010 Author Posted May 24, 2010 Beyonce- Curvy. Mo'nique- Fat. More like Beyonce = Curvey.... Ugly Betty = best case scenario of what curvy atualy means
Mimolicious Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 Who America? Not no more!! She is very fit now and so is Jennifer Hudson. I love it, when they first come out they are so "this is me, rolls and all" and then Hollywood sucks the fat out of them then they say "this is me, bones and all". Whatever!
OpenGL Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 In online dating: curvy = obese a few extra pounds = morbidly obese I challenge anyone to find me a dating profile of a woman who describes herself as "curvy" that isn't at least 50 pounds overweight.

They're both very fit now, but they still have curves. They're still quite far from being skin and bone.
ADF Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 Women who are both thin and curvy in the sense you mean are a genetic rarity. Very few women have the genetic makeup you describe. It doesn't matter how much they diet or work out or whatever. Most women simply cannot have thin waists AND ample hips AND large, high breasts. It just isn't possible for them, at least not without surgery (yikes!).
kiss_andmakeup Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 In online dating: curvy = obese a few extra pounds = morbidly obese I challenge anyone to find me a dating profile of a woman who describes herself as "curvy" that isn't at least 50 pounds overweight. It's kind of a self fulfilling prophecy now. "Curvy" has been made so synonymous with "chunky," "overweight," and "obese," that now no truly healthy but curvy gal (like someone with a Beyonce body type) would EVER put "curvy" in her profile.
Jersey Shortie Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 People "curve" numbers and comments to make themselves seem all kinds of better and hopefully more acceptable by the opposite sex. Women and men do this.
kiss_andmakeup Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 People "curve" numbers and comments to make themselves seem all kinds of better and hopefully more acceptable by the opposite sex. Women and men do this. It's true, in my online dating days I encountered more than a couple of men who lied about their height on their profile. I also encountered multiple men who selected "athletic" as their body type but in reality they were far from it. Even though I think the misuse of the word "curvy" is annoying and slightly comical, it shouldn't be that big of a deal, as you can usually tell (note that I said usually and not always) someone's approximate body type by their photo. And if they don't have any photos, well, that's even more telling isn't it!
FryFish Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 Women... Chubby chasers like "curvy"(read fat) chicks. They are the only ones who seem to truly like it and it IS a FETISH for them. No matter what anyone else tells you(especially other women) most men DONT LIKE any extra pounds... A lot of men SETTLE for it but they would certainly prefer skinny and attractive to "curvy"... There is NO SUCH THING as a Big Beautiful Woman(BBW). That is the truth no matter how many fat women tell you otherwise.

But it's human nature to make yourself seem better then you are for both men and women. Who of us hasn't elaborated at some point to seem more exciting?
FryFish Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 3/10. I've read better trolling material Im not trolling. I, personally, am DISGUSTED by fat people... Like I actually hate them for no real reason. I accept that my level of disgust is way over the top and that my feelings about fat people are bordering on being a real issue for me... But what I said was true. Guys SETTLE for fat chicks. Im not saying that all of us prefer stick figures but I am saying that none of us prefer the "curvy" girl over the fit girl. Its the truth.... Well, in all cases except for the chubby chasers like I already mentioned. Now espec, did you have anything to say about the topic or are YOU just trolling?
Trimmer Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 So is this like when a real estate ad says "cozy" (shockingly small) or "rustic" (old and run down)?
Author Green Posted May 24, 2010 Author Posted May 24, 2010 So is this like when a real estate ad says "cozy" (shockingly small) or "rustic" (old and run down)? Probably more like when a real estate ad says "handy man special" lol
