Essentially it boils down to the apple or the pear. Men are attracted to the pear, not the apple. (See below)

Are you kidding me? Men have pear-shaped physiques. Why would men be attracted to their own body types?

 

Flaring hips are a purely feminine trait (childbirth) and to me super sexy. They are what sumptuously separate the male gender from the female gender.

Well, I was always under the impression that pear-shaped meant big on top and slim hips. Like a man. Look at the pictures. Female types have big hips, a wide pelvis, nature's way of facilitating the birth process.

Men are more of an upside-down pair. Broad shoulders instead of broad hips, slimmer underneath.

 

On the subject, curvy wide hips are one of the sexiest things on women. Jessica Biel in Texas Chainsaw Massacre, ooooooh boy. It must be a subconscious procreation thing, but big hips make me lose it.

 

I hate when women have straight hips without that little hourglass thing going on.

The problem is a lot of women think they are curvy when in fact they are fat.

 

Theres a big difference in curvy and being fat.

 

When I opened the pics I was surprised because to me they looked normal.

 

Too me the word curvy gets a bad name because so many people who are fat use it to describe themselves. I've almost come to assume when someone says they are curvy, they are over weight.

I agree. These women look normal. They don't look anywhere close to being overweight. Skinny women can have curves as well. Yes there is a big difference between being curvy and being fat.

The OP's point wasn't that these women were fat or overweight, just that they weren't skinny. And a US size 8/10 is NOT skinny,

I was always pretty slender but with curves....the bootay was very round...

 

Now I am more curvy ( normal -not skinny- slender right now ) so I have that womanly curvy thing going on that turns heads...:)

Alright then - but then it misses the point of what i posted initially which is to say that these curvaceous beauties aren't exactly going without in terms of love and sex. On which planet do you live where the men turn down women like these?

I don't understand why some of you think a woman cannot be both skinny and curvy at the same time, they are not mutually exclusive adjectives. I think it's a great combination.

I don't think anyone said women can't be skinny and curvy, they're just not the subject of this thread. The OP seems to favour women in the size 8-10 (based on the pics he shared) range and was just wondering if other men did too. Skinny curvy women (i.e. women who are on the small size of their average weight range for their height but still have nice boobs and a nice butt) are the universally accepted ideal of "hot" and the OP was offering that slightly fuller-figured women are just as appealing to him.

 

At 5'9 and 115 I'm definitely skinny but I think fuller/curvy women are beautiful. :love:

Look, when I said 'love', I meant as in all around appreciation. Not 'love' in the romantic sense. My point is still the same: a woman doesn't have to be thin to be sexy.

We all know how skinny, proportional women usually go in lines of what is considered hot.

 

Personally, however, I think curvy, proportional women can be just as hot. There is something yummy about women with some meat on their bones.

 

While there is nothing wrong with the conventional 'hot' woman, there's certainly nothing wrong with:

All I'm saying is, there's nothing wrong with a woman who has a bit of curves in her, and I'm personally a fan. Maybe it has part to do with because there's more to grab:cool:. Just because she isn't too skinny or super toned, doesn't mean she can't be super sexy..or maybe it's just me?

One piece of supposed conventional wisdom that I hate is the notion that most American men prefer skinnly, waify Kate Moss-type bodies, and that this societal preference is contributing to media-driven self-consciousness among women with curves or figures, often resulting in eating disorders and the like. If the latter is even true, it's not the fault of hetero men.

 

Take a look at the Hollywood starlets most men drool over - Scarlett Johanson, Megan Fox, Beyonce, etc. - none of these women are "skinny" to an unhealthy degree as feminists often charge. Yes, they have great bodies and are in shape, but they have hips, breasts, and yes, a$$es that could get any man's blood pumping. Even the buxom redhead from "Mad Men," who is probably overweight by any doctor's standards, looks damned sexy.

 

So where does the idea that men prefer the "unattainable" (read: waify) female body type come from? I blame the fashion industry and women's magazines, which do in fact promote images of skinny, boyish women. Many of these models are naturally skinny; most, I'd guess, use a combination of dieting and drugs to look so androgynous. But who drives the fashion and women's magazine industry? They're not dominated by straight males, the typical scapegoat of the feminazi. Most people who work in these sectors are either a) straight women, or b) gay men.

 

Personally, I'll take an hourglass over a waif, all things being equal.

My GF is really damn skinny in the middle but damn has she got some nice wide hips and a great a$$ not to mention the best breasts on this planet. Er, I didn't start this thread to debate the best body type. Just simply saying a slightly bigger woman can be pretty sexy. 'Thick' women are hands down my absolute favorite, but many don't know what that means, and that's for another thread.
