Arasae Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 (edited) ..and also why I'm *really* realizing FwB situations have potential to really, REALLY suck! Oh man! It's really funny in retrospect, but still! So, I've been dating this guy on and off for 8 months; it's not serious, it's more of a FwB situation, we go out and see other people (no sex with them, though). He's about a decade older than I am, and his sister is my room mate, so we tend to really downplay each other's company when in social situations. So last night was his birthday party; everyone was there, including a past lover of his. When it came time to leave, she decided she wasn't going to. I kind of suspected this was the case; all night long she'd been talking about how it was cool, she could drink, she'd "call a cab or sleep on the couch or something" to other people. Now, I didn't think my guy would actually sleep with her, leaving me on the couch(not to mention, he was so drunk he was incapable, and we don't sleep with other people out of respect for not infecting each other with stds), but I was NOT counting on how insistent she'd be! Omigosh! After everyone left, I was helping his two room mates clean up and watching her attempt to drape herself all over him. She spent an hour and a half trying to convince him to take her to bed with him; I only heard snippets of the conversation, but he was like, "No, I'm too drunk, it won't work," and her saying "I won't try anything funny, I promise!" Whenever she'd look away, he'd give me this exasperated look; when I got him alone for a second, I offered to make things easier for him and leave in an hour (I'd only had three drinks over like six hours, but I'm a lightweight), but that just made him think I was angry with him, so he told me to stay, that he'd be sleeping with me that night (just sleeping, not sexing), just give him a minute. About at that point (and she hadn't heard any of this, she just refused to accept the couch as an answer), she pointedly got up and moved her purse and all her stuff into his room; he face-planted into the couch. She determinedly walked him upstairs, got him to brush his teeth (which was definitely good for him), and then went to wait in his room for him.. so he stumbled back downstairs and face-planted into the couch again. (I was settled into the one across the room) He had given her his bed to sleep in that night. At this point, I guess she decided to leave, which was really bad, because she'd been doing shots to prove that she couldn't drive and needed to stay.. even though other people had offerred her rides and she was thinking about calling a cab. This entire thing was RIDICULOUS. I was cleaning up with his room mate, picking up bottles, wiping up spills, and putting poker cards away, and essentially got to watch another chick throw herself at my FwB guy, for an hour and a half, while he was drunk out of his mind, and then watched him make excuses for why they couldn't. Gosh. The thing that bothers me is that he only remembers snippets, and he called her to make sure she'd gotten home alright this morning--and she told him that I'd "prevented" her from "tucking him in" and that I, me, the girl cleaning up, had been trying to sex him up! Clearly I was the only sober one to realize that he was WAY too drunk for that. He doesn't care either way and doesn't get why that bothered me that she was trying to trash talk me, but.. whatever. It's over. To his credit, he was totally sloshed and still knew better than to leave me down on the couch when we'd hooked up the night before; to my detriment, I put myself into that situation, and it's all very retarded.
