So, i haven't posted on here in a really long time but here goes. I had an amazing boyfriend. We were deliriously happy for three months. He was the first relationship that I had been in after a six year disaster relationship. he treated me really well and we had lots of fun together.

After the first three months, things went downhill very quickly. He got distant, I lost confidence in the relationship. For a month, I forgot that we were happy for a while before it. There are a myriad of little reasons on both of our parts for the shift. He came over a few weeks ago and ended it.

I had kind of expected it and felt little more than relief at the time that I didn't have to try and figure out how to fix things or what I was doing wrong. He had said a couple of times that he still wants to be in my life but i told him to respect the fact that I needed to be away from him for a while.

It's been a few weeks and I have begun to miss him. I hadn't initiated any sort of contact. Then, last night he texted me out of the blue and after a little random small talk he said that, if I'm ready, he really wants to hang out soon.

I have never been able to be friends with an ex. This one is certainly too fresh and I don't want to set myself up to be hurt again by having him around. I'm not sure if he's doing this because he feels bad or because he wants me back. He certainly isn't a malicious guy...in fact he is honorable pretty much to a fault.

Any insights are appreciated.:bunny:

He may want you back, or he may want to lure you into some kind of FWB situation. You say he is an honorable man, so it may well be the former.

What can count on is that he has more on his mind than just "hanging out." Men almost newer go out of their way to "hang out" with a woman unless without some romantic and/or sexual goal. Almost newer.
