OpenGL Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 http://intelligentwomenreadromance.com/2010/05/10/because-women-dont-have-to-do-anything-to-be-famous/ This pretty my trickles down into the everyday female and I think is one of the causes of why women demand so much from men these days. They are expecting prince charming just for being a woman. Discuss.
You'reasian Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 I disagree. Some women are fine with the bare minimum. A guy that has the potential to provide and can take care of them, whatever that means. Other women want something more - a guy with goals, who takes care of himself, is the best version of himself and has a unique personality that compliments hers. Yet others want the guy like Mr. Big from SITC, lots of money, high flying, powerful, hung like a donkey and spoils her like the princess she is....
St. Nick Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 intelligentwomenreadromance dot com? What kind of a crappy name for a site is that? Personally, I think the most a woman expects from men is one that will make her laugh and smile. That's pretty easy to do, isn't it?
phineas Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 I think women just want a good rogering & a guy who won't embarace them in front of family & friends.
Crusoe Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 I don't think women expect anything from a man other than he be a man. Likewise, men don't expect anything from a women other than she be a woman. Silly little girls feel entitled to Prince Charming. Silly little boys feel entitled to a woman.
Woggle Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 Very true. There are tons of talentless people who are fanous for no apparant reason and they happen to be mostly female.
marsle85 Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 (edited) Anyone who is famous has done something, or is something... even in the smallest degree. Regardless of how valuable their talent/relation- they are famous. Kelly Osbourne: is a British media personality, fashion designer, singer, actress and model, known for being the daughter of Ozzy and Sharon She was thrust into the limelight after appearing on reality series The Osbournes with her family. She has also appeared on the Dancing with the Stars which she and professional dance partner Louis van Amstel took third place, and has made forays into music, acting, fashion, writing and radio presentation. Nicole Richie: The adopted daughter of soul singer Lionel Richie, she is perhaps best known for her role in the Fox reality television series The Simple Life, alongside fellow socialite and childhood best friend Paris Hilton. Peaches Geldof: Model/socialite. Undoubtedly, William Hung (TERRIBLE singer) had more "fame" than other American Idol singers. The error in this theory is that fame is dependent on HOW you become famous. It's irrelevant. Edited May 21, 2010 by marsle85 Citing: wikipedia.com
Woggle Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 What are some great classic works Kelly Osbourne, Nicole Ritchie and Paris Hilton have produced?
single ape Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 opengl.. you gotta drop the "Woman are... " chip.. it'll get you so unlaid!
TaraMaiden Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 I think we're confusing 'famous' with 'celebrity'. Elizabeth Taylor, Judy Garland, Spencer Tracy and Humphrey Bogart are famous. Kelly Osborne et al are celebrities.... and phukkin' forgettable ones at that... How many of them will be remembered half a century on, for being any more than celebrities?
marsle85 Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 What are some great classic works Kelly Osbourne, Nicole Ritchie and Paris Hilton have produced? Classic works aren't required to measure fame. That is where your thinking is skewed. Joslyn James' "great work" included sleeping with Tiger Woods. Does that make her any less famous? No way. Similarly, NFL players are famous and they throw a ball around, and some even negatively contribute to society... are they less famous? Nope. In fact, they're likely to become more notorious.
