I have dated the father of my daughter for 6 years, and we moved in together 3 years ago and have a 4 year old daughter. Every time I bring up marriage, he says something crazy like "we will get around to it" like its a chore, or "when I'm ready". I am really getting fed up with the attitudes that he gives when ever I try to talk to him. I know that it will hurt our daughter if I leave, so I am trying my best to hang in there. I love him true enough, more than I have ever loved a man. I don't want to force him or guilt him into anything he doesn't want, but I don't want to ignore my feelings for his.I told him today that I was not going to wait another year. He came back with a low blow, and stated that I can do what I needed to do.I was so hurt by the statement that started to cry. He got up, put on clothes and left out. More than likely, to go hang out with his friends. Is it time for me to move on without him?

WOW. that was wrong of him! i am not sure what you should do to be honest. there are so many more factors that should come into play besides the marriage issue. is he treating you right? is he always there for you? is he affectionate? supportive? kind? giving? loving? are you truly happy with him? do you have a great sex life? do you love him more than the day you met him? are you getting your needs met? are you being treated how you deserve to be? are you setting a wonderful example for your daughter of what a healthy, loving, real relationship is supposed to be like? staying for your daughter is only teaching her to settle if you answered no to many of these questions. being happy, healthy, and not settling for less than you deserve is a great example for your daughter. i truly hope you can figure out what is best for you. if you are not happy you cannot be the best you...you always want your daughter to have the best you possible as a mom. marriage would be great, but if u and ur daughter's father are truly happy and have an amazing relationship then it is worth staying. good luck <3
