supersub Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 Okay, So we are all going through some kind of motions, emotion, etc. Does anyone ever feel like this stuff is just ever so slightly surreal? If anyone has been following my story I can say I feel relieved today after a second chance that was on, then off, then on, then off again finally, and happily. The situation looking back, is just so bizarre and certainly is not something I do for fun, I've had several relationships and never had anything like this. In other words in the past when it was over, it was over! 6 months of NC. One step forward two steps back, crying, laughing, talking, pain, can't sleep, can't eat, can't concentrate, moments of triumph, moments of pain. Why do we do it? It's just laughable looking back. Am I now indifferent to this? Is that why I look back at it this way?

Yes, it is definitely surreal and even laughable because one can't conceive the idea of putting up with all those kinds of emotions and feelings. Why would anyone do that???? Are we crazy? it's just one of those things that I personally think we'll never get a proper answer because these are matters of the heart, right? and I don't think you've become indifferent to this, not at all. I believe it's just a matter of maturity, I mean, you've certainly learnt a lot from this experiencie and may never want to go through the same again because you know it hurts, but you will feel and love and do silly things all over again!! You learn from it all! even just by trying

Surreal is a good way to put it. Now you can understand why so many stories (be it songs, movies, books, etc) are written on the topic of love.
