Since my college relationship broke up a year after graduation, I've had two disastrous 6 month long relationships and not much else. The last one ended a few weeks ago and I am trying to get back out there. I live in a town, not a city, so I see a lot of familiar faces and I don't know how to get out of the cycle and meet new people. I'm sort of over the bar scene - and when I do go out it's very rare I meet a guy in a bar anyway. I'm attractive enough, but it's not often that I'm approached and I'm too shy to do the approaching myself. So where/how else do you meet new people (besides online, I am trying that but I miss meeting people organically)?

suprisinginsight Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 I have heard that church is a good place. I have never tried that myself but i have heard good feedback from friends and family. Really depends on your interests and what you are looking for. For me after college, I picked up alot of hobbies that put me in social situations. I joined a mastiff group in my area. Once or twice a month a bunch of us would take our dogs to the dog park and hang out, play with our dogs and chit chat. group dance lessons, wine tasting, book club, going to the gym are also good places to start.
