Deeblondie82 Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 UPDATE!!! I am back from my trip. I really enjoyed going to Chicago, here is what went down: I met his family and they were very sweet to me. His parents took me out for Chicago pizza (the BEST!!!) Then we went to see Nightmare on Elm Street (not a fan). Watched his movies he loves(not really a fan of most) Music he wouldn't me listen to mine but he wanted me to hear all his music (heavy metal and weird stuff) Went downtown all day sat. and checked the sites and Went to a casino Sunday (he got a free night) it was nice! Lost money:( Then I left on Tuesday night and We came to the conclusion that we were better off as friends. I am sad but glad I got to see him before making any major decisions I know that it was right cuz I had feelings for him but the spark wasn't really there. So I am glad I got to go and meet him after 9 yrs of knowing him. I hope it doesn't cause any issues with us cuz I rather be his friend then nothing at all. But after that we talk little by little everyday now:( But I just wanted to add a update to this and let you all know what happened. I love coming on this forum so I think I will come on from time to time.. LDR is just not for me.. I need a local guy who will treat me like I should be treated, he was a little too much(dorky,oddball) and I could handle so much. Yes I still kinda want to try something with him but in all honesty I think he needs a local girl who can handle his ways, I will care for him always and I want to go visit him down the road just a relationship isn't in the cards for us. In due time for me... it will happen. Thanks all for your support and kind words thru:) it all!

I mean really he can't listen to your music or watch movies you like, but you have to listen and watch everything he adores?!?!? Hmph!

Yes, it's a shame, because as much as you try not to have expectations about when you meet, you really do hope that its all that you want it to be. I'm sorry its not going to be a relationship but having him as a friend is better than nothing and nine yrs is alot to lose. Good luck in finding someone local. You are lovely and deserve the best.

But he could have let me listen to something I liked but he wouldn't work with me. It was annoying and I need someone who can let me listen to somethings I like. Guys I swear! lol Oh well.. lol

But he could have let me listen to something I liked but he wouldn't work with me. It was annoying and I need someone who can let me listen to somethings I like. Guys I swear! lol Oh well.. lol My gf loves country music and I loathe it. lol. We compromised with 80's music when we listen to music together. She likes it and I can tolerate it so it works out. We rarely listen to the radio anyway when we are together cause we are always talking. Sorry it didnt work out for you and I wish you very good luck finding a local love. BTW my girl is from Oregon as well.
