Honestly, why is my ex so concerned about still being "friends"?

So my girlfriend broke up with me four months ago out of the blue, said she didn't didn't want as serious a relationship as we had at the time despite the fact we had been dating for 9 months. It was pretty tough to take, made me mad because she really didn't talk to me about any of it.

 

Anyways, she keeps pestering me wanting to be friends which honestly has gotten really annoying. Why is she so insistent on taking to me still? Oh, and btw she is now dating one of my friends (well, used to be a friend haha). So her reason for breaking up was pure horse you know what.

...because she wants you either as a back up plan, or be cool with her new relationship. thats what they all do. ignore her and keep it moving.
