robaday Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 Hi, I guess this SHOULD be covered by books such as "The Power of Now", and through therapy but I still really really struggle with living in the present. I have a backing track of thoughts whirling constantly through my head. Last night I caught myself talking to myself in my room for a full 10 minutes in imaginary conversations.....I mean WTF? I am a smart (IQ somewhere between 127-130) man, aged 27, with a job that requires intense focus, a freelance journalism job and a voluntary job on weekends. Before you ask, I have been diagnosed with OCD, depression, dissassociation, substance abuse issues, alcohol abuse issues, etc etc. But on the whole I have overcome the depression and substance abuse parts by respecting my body more on my own through diet, exercise and keeping busy all the time. My problems normally surface in relationships with others. Apart from therapy, are there ANY more ways I can work to "live in the moment"?
