Scarlett513 Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 I was just having this conversation with a few girlfriends and we're all wondering the same thing: When dating someone you met online, how long should you wait until you let a guy pick you up at your house or spend time at your/his place? Some of my friends feel like the second or third date is fine, but I feel like you should be more careful than that. They think I'm paranoid, and I think they're naive =D We thought some extra input could help put an end to the debate....
AngryTroll Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 The same amount of time as if you'd met someone elsewhere.
furbaby Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 I think it really depends on the person and the situation. You need to trust your intuition. I would usually wait til like the 3rd date or so. If I let a guy over to my house and I don't know him super well, I will text a bunch of my friends and let them know what the plans are for the evening. I will also text them his name and phone number and any other information about him. My friends have started doing the same thing with guys they date. Maybe this is paranoid, but as someone who has been assaulted, I don't think you can ever be too careful.
astromantic Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 Depends on what you're comfortable with and how well you've read the person. I met my SO online. We just celebrated our first anniversary. I didn't let him know where I lived until nearly 1.5 months of dating. For my safety and my family's safety I wouldn't let someone know my address until I felt sure of the stranger... and now he's not much of stranger at all
