why is my ex acting this way?

we only dated a month though, but we were BEST friends before we dated. my ex and i had been broken up for about 2 months now i think. when we had first broken up it was because of unnesscary drama and we got back together the next day and then that day we got into a stupid fight and we broke up again, then he wanted to know if we could get back together again and he never met my dad before cuz hes been in iraq so my dad came home for two week and he felt my dad was "rude" to him, so he didnt talk to me for quite some time. then he decided to talk to me again after about maybe 2-4 weeks. he told me about a car accident he was in, and prom was coming up so we talked about that. and he was asking me if i still liked him and such and who i liked and he asked me who this guy was that i was hanging out with. and my parents were gonna get a divorce so i told him about it and he was happy, then they decided they werent getting a divorced so i told him that and he said wow that just ruined everything. and he was acting like something was wrong so i asked what was wrong and he said honestly he didnt know he just misses people and the way things used to be. now we are back on no speaking terms once again, its like he loves me one minute and hates me the next, his friend had asked if i was mad at my ex. and i said no is he mad at me and he said no im just asking. apparently my ex is not "talking" to one of my friends we werent really good friends but we hung out a little bit. but he'll still look at me every once in a while. the things he said to me when we dated seemed like he would NEVER get over me, but now it seems like he might have, or unless hes putting off that i dont care atttitude, cuz one of his other friends who also liked me when i was with my ex, said i need to get over him he's moved on and he only talked to me cuz i complained which i never ONCE did. i think he lashed out on me cuz he felt hurt for what i did to him. i still want my ex back or at least go back to being friends again, cuz we pretty much know everything about each other and we went through ALOT together and it hurts to talk past each other every day like we've never met, and i wonder if he feels that way too. i didnt do anything to hurt him, so he cant be acting this way because he's hurt..
