skydiveaddict
Fine. Same scenario: two hot women, one is quiet and reserved the other is outspoken, flirty, etc. Which one is the man naturally drawn too.. It doesn't matter. Both the hotties will end up with dates. The same thing does NOT apply to men. It is not a two way street. Be the "nice guy" and you are down the road. m12
No no no! "nice guy" = sorry, I'm not interested, there are no exceptions If that's all she says when he asks her out, then it does seem like a rejection. It's usually "nice guy but ____".

m12
But almost never with the girl they want. Nice guys have to settle. It depends on their other qualities. If they have a hot body, make a big salary, have interesting hobbies, etc. I doubt they have to settle.

True, a nice guy w/those qualities might get the girl he wants, but she will very soon grow bored with him and either leave or cheat
BlindbyLove
it seems that the biggest thing i see with nice guys is the lack of confidence. I believe a woman/man can pick up on that. where as a guy who's acting like a jerk usually sends out more energy being that jerk and people around him pick up on the more dominate energy. JMO. brainygirl
Wow, wish I knew this, I've called men I was interested in nice guys. As in, "he's a nice guy, I'd like to get to know him more". Turns out I was using a code that actually meant "I'm not interested in him for unarticulated reasons" could explain my astounding lack of success with men.

Many nice guys do lack confidence. A nice guy without enough confidence is a person who will be alone for a very long time.

Turns out I was using a code that actually meant "I'm not interested in him for unarticulated reasons" could explain my astounding lack of success with men. The term "nice guy" is scary for men because it is so often used by women when rejecting us. I'm so used to the "nice guy but ____" rejection. If you use "great guy" or just about anything other than "nice guy" you won't scare us away.

CLC2008
I'd say only partially. It depends on the situation. My opinion is somewhere between that of yours and skydive. Me too. Though I still say, that if there are two women that are attractive, the outspoken one who is being flirty saying "hey sexy" blah blah blah versus the other one who is equally attractive, but talks about her cats or how beautiful the table linens look or something, isn't the one you're going to be drawn to first. I'd prefer the one who talks about her cats and table linens. I do agree that most men would be drawn to the other one at first.

It doesn't matter. they will both end up with dates. Like I said b4, "nice guy" syndrome affects men only. It cannot apply to women. It's not possible

It's not possible "nice guy" syndrome affects men much more than women. It does affect some women too. The nice woman who's sitting in the corner sometimes does not get noticed.
