Brocke Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 hello my name is Brock age:25 im in need of some advice, ive met a girl online we've been talking for about 2week almost. we hit it off good talking asking each other questions just gettin got know each other. she i had asked her if she heard about a movie that was coming out. she said she wanted to go see it. this wasnt the issue of me asking to if she wanted to go and see it. shes single but said she talking to someone/dating kinda but nothing serious. then the next day she told me that she saw that guy again. she had said it didnt work out because he was a jerk. we do in need deed have alot in common. we had talked for about 4 hours thens she went off to bed. but during those 4 hours we talked about alot. i had asked her what she likes in a man (was i wrong to do that?) i had sent her a pic and she had me in the beginning. when we were on the topic of what we like in a person. she said she was 5'0 around 150. not bad really. im still attracted to her. but my issue is this im 5'10 130LB athletic yet thin/skinny. she said she wouldnt date me because she wont date a man thats smaller than her. i was kinda at aww about it. like i cant believe what i read. two days have passed we are still talking. i had talked to her about the whole 'issue' she just said she wouldnt. i responed that 'you never know what the out come could be if you think outside the box' ' it could lead to new and great things' later we continued to talk i had then asked her out of dinner/lunch kinda as a date/ get to know each other. she surrpisingly said ask me next because shes going to be busy this weekend. is she just feeling sorry for me? or is she interested? we both enjoy lot of the same. its just that 'issue' of size. thank you all that apply. because im not sure where to go next with out being pushy. when shes online i have to start the conersation, she wont. leading me that shes not. i dont know. kinda confused on that one. would it be best to halt do that and wait to see if she starts a conversation with me or would that be bad? again thank you all.
callalilly Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 (edited) wow...every guy I've dated weighs less than me, and my current bf is 2.5 inches shorter than me, too. She needs to get over that hang-up -- it's silly! It's obviously not because she's not attracted to smaller guys....it's some sort of self esteem issue. But in answer to your question...yes, back off a little and see if she misses you. Edited May 7, 2010 by callalilly
Frontliner Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 She doesn't want to date a guy smaller than her because she doesn't want to feel fat. I don't think she feels sorry for you. Tell her she's pretty and all that nonsense. Or gain some weight and bulk up you pathetic morsel.

starwolf242 Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 I have the same problem she has. There's a guy the same height as me but much much thinner than me and I just can't get past it. I feel huge stood next to him and it makes me feel bad about myself. Having said that though, it wouldn't be as much of an issue if he was taller than me because there would still be that feeling that he was bigger. The only trouble with this guy is he's not just thin, he's got no muscle on him. He's literally bones wrapped in skin and that's just not attractive to me. If you are slim but have muscle on you and are taller than her, then you may be able to win her over. I understand where she's coming from and the self esteem thing you can help with but she has to believe it within herself that she's pretty or not fat etc. Say you understand her position on the thing and arrange to meet up just as friends. Then try to make a deeper connection in person and maybe you'll be able to change her mind.

starwolf242 Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 I would say once she's met you in person then lay off. But if you lay off now when she's made up her mind there will never be anything romantic between you before she's met you, she'll forget about you. You need her to see you in person, that's the only way she'll be able to gauage whether she can change her mind and then if she still can't get past the weight thing, sadly it's a dead end for you.

Author Brocke Posted May 7, 2010 Author Posted May 7, 2010 Is it to pushy if i tell her that i think about her often considering what has been going on the past few days? because i have.
Romance Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 I would feel awkward dating a guy who was smaller than me.
