There is no comparison here at all. And it's very possible that the overweight lady with a nice personality and some intelligence could be better off. However, there is nothing at all negative about being average looking (that means looking about like most other people) and being slim or athletic. I'd say, these days being slim is way above average.

I'd say, these days being slim is way above average. Can you think of a single social situation where your chances are better being an average looking guy over a fat girl? 1. Club/Bar - Fat girls get more attention 2. House party - Same 3. Male dominated hobby, the random fat girls will be swarming with guys 4. Female dominated hobby - Dominated by the "we hate men" crowd 5. Coffee Shop/Book girl - If you're not brad pitt you will have security called on you. Fat girls no problem and will walk out with a few phone numbers.

I have pretty radical views, but hear me out. I think that - an average looking guy is the same as an average looking girl and a fat guy is the same as a fat girl

Supposedly, women value personality/intelligence more while men value beauty more. Of course, this isn't always 100% true, but stereotypically.

Frankly I'd rather an average looking girl, who is perfect personality wise than a stupid bimbo who's a 10 on the hot scale. I hate hot and dumb more than anything actually.

GoodOnPaper Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 The way I have always heard it is that the "nice guy" is the male equivalent of the "fat girl" -- meaning that a man's lack of charisma and assertiveness diminishes his attractiveness in the same way that being overweight does for a woman. Of course, generalizations like this are usually oversimplified. Individual mileage will vary . . .

If you haven't seen it, see the 40 Year Old Virgin on DVD or TV or w/e. Steve Carrell is a dweeb that works in an electronic shop. He has no skills with the opposite sex thus he's never gotten any. I forget who puts him up to it but he approaches Elizabeth Banks who works in a book store nearby. When he puts on an air of confidence and some how deflects her questions as if he is absolutely sure of himself. She then admires and checks him out every chance she gets. It's not the average-lookingness or even what you say. It's what you do and how "together" you look at doing it that a lot of girls take notice of. They may talk amongst themselves about who they think is hot or cute, but the more worthwhile ones will be attracted to your steadiness and steadfastness.

Assumption: Average guy with slim to athletic build = Fat girl Therefore: OpenGL = Fat girl. Now you can blame your lack of dating success on this stupid logic.

I consider myself good looking, but if you put me up against some perfect, more-square jawed model with perfect muscles, I probably hit below average. Carry yourself like you're the sexiest mother*bleep* around, and women will pick up on that.
