TheGuy662 Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 Okay, so I'm a seventeen year old high school student and have liked this girl since 7th grade. I've been friendly with her for years and sometimes I feel like she likes me but I just am not sure. I've been attempting to ask her out but have backed down at the last second because I'm just worried and scared about her saying no. I know I should ask just so I can find out how she feels and get it over with but I just can't bring myself to ask her out. Any advice?

SomewhatExperienced Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Is this the first time you've ever asked a girl out? Because if it is, it is in fact a scary thing to do particularly when you first start. The key is be relaxed, or at least pretend to be. Just consider this as if you're asking her out because you're interested and just want to hang out and see where things go, not because you're secretly in love with her and want her to be your girlfriend forever and ever . jk . If things don't work then, meh, move on to the next girl. Just say "hey (insert name), I was wondering what are up to saturday? wanna get together and share a soda pop?" (still joking, forgive me) . But seriously, asking people out in high school is much more difficult than doing it in the real world. Just remember, if she says no it's not big deal. You'll realize when get older than the vast majority of the girls you date won't really develop into any sort of relationship. It's just the nature of the beast. Finally, if she does say no. Don't take it too hard and pat yourself on the back for finding the nuts to do it because a lot of guys don't. Every time you do it you'll see it'll be easier. Oh, AND DON'T ASK HER OUT OVER FACEBOOK OR TEXT MESSAGING. YEESH! KIDS THESE DAYS!!!!
