It might be time to wait a few days or a week to take another test...

If you still get a negative a week or so from now then the chances would be getting slimmer on your pregnancy

I don't think that you are pregnant spookie.

So..... there is a chance that I am completely crazy.

I've been attempting to get a "clear positive" all day, so I can be 100% sure... but the 3 tests I've taken have been clearly negative. One of them I took first thing and the morning, and the other two were digital.

WTF? Is it possible I imagined those dots? Is it possible those dots were there before, causing me to misread the test?

If I'm NOT pregnant, then why is my period more than 2 weeks late??

I really don't understand what's going on. At-home pregnancy tests are supposed to be really accurate. From a scientific perspective, there is a VERY slim chance of getting a false positive. There is a higher chance of getting a false negative, but with my period already 2 weeks late, my preggo hormones should be high enough that 3 false negatives in a row would be also be extremely unlikely.

I know I should go see a doctor, but I'm in a different state till next week. I will try to get a blood test somewhere around here tomorrow.

I'm sorry for stirring up all this drama prematurely. :o Thanks for all the advice and support.

You are not crazy, you are probably just feeling nervous and anxious.

I know you said you are late, but if you've taken three tests and each were negative, it is unlikely you are pregnant spookie.

I'm not sure what state you are in, but most states within the US have planned parenthood centers and you can walk right in.

I think going would put your mind at ease and you will feel better knowing one way or the other.

Hope it works out for the best.

I had a pregnancy scare a couple of months ago - am taking BC but I didn't get my period the week I was supposed to. I took a pregnancy test which turned up negative. The next month I got my period right on time; in retrospect I think a combo of work stress and too much exercise from marathon training affected my cycle.

Have you been under stress or had any other physical changes that could have caused temporary amenorrhea?

Go to a free clinic or a Planned Parenthood or a doctor's office. They can even do a vaginal ultrasound if necessary.

Have you stopped taking the pill?

If so, have you had unprotected sex? If not, I'd be sure to use protection until you find out for sure. It sounds to me like you are not pregnant. But I don't want you to GET pregnant by not being careful thinking you really were!

I think you should probably be taking a majority here.

Exactly how many tests have you taken?

I know you didn't skip pills, but you stopped the bc pill in the middle of a cycle right?

Not in the middle. I missed my LAST period after some spotting the week before I was supposed to get it, so the next month, I didn't take it just in case I was pregnant (we've been using condoms instead).

I've been taking pregnancy tests all month (probably 9 or so total, 3 or 4 in the past 2 days). 1 yesterday was "barely" positive, all the rest have been negative, I am seriously going insane now worrying whether maybe it's an ectopic pregnancy or something else scary like that.

I've been stressing because of this, and a big exam I took today, but I don't think my stress level is high enough to warrant this.

How many days has it been since your last actual period?

I'm really sorry if I've worried you....if you go to a docs they will probably do a blood test and see what your HCG levels are. If it's any consolation, the symptoms are normally fairly severe and that shoulder tip pain is a giveaway

Edit - the syptoms are normally fairly severe at a later stage (5 plus weeks) but you may not have any symptoms at all right now as it is so early on possibly....most women don't discover an ectopic til much later than the stage you are possibly at.

Ugh... googling "ectopic pregnancy negative test" is terrifying.

"Taking hormones, especially estrogen and progesterone (such as those in birth control pills), can slow the normal movement of the fertilized egg through the tubes and lead to ectopic pregnancy."

Push away from the keyboard and talk to your mother and father. :)

As much as I appear to be psychotically pro-life in this thread, the truth is, I just think it'd be much easier to have the child, than the abortion. What you did was the right thing.

You don't sound "psychotically pro-life." You can be pro-choice and decide against having an abortion. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that.

STOP GOOGLING! Don't google medical conditions. You'll convince yourself you have three types of cancer. :p

Seriously, don't freak yourself out. You have a doctor's appointment set up already, right? Take a deep breath and wait until you go in and get a doctor's opinion. You'll be fine waiting a few days to find out what's going on. The world isn't going to end if you don't figure it out right this second.

Most of the last 100 posts have been way off topic. Time to put this tired baby to sleep. Thanks for participating...and to those who DID stick to the topic I thank you kindly.
