Are men put off by stretch marks?

Recommended Posts

Can I get some advice from you guys out there? I'm 31 yrs old and have just come out of a 7 year relationship and about to start dating again. Ive been told i'm attractive and I dont seem to have trouble attracting guys (i'm really not up my own ass) The thing is, ive got stretch marks on my tummy and i'm really aware of them and they really give me a complex about myself! Be honest, are men put off by this when you get between the sheets?? I've had this conversation with a male friend of mine and he said that men luv confidence in a women, and that stretch marks are not an issue! Is he just being nice?

make me believe

I'm sure stretch marks aren't an issue for anybody who's worth your time. Hell, guys get stretch marks too! My ex had quite a few of them on his stomach (and they were pretty deep & noticeable), but I never cared. They were just part of him, and I thought everything about him was cute. :)

OP, kinda like I can't reasonably do anything about lack of hair on my head, you can't do anything about stretch marks, short of surgical options in both cases. If you're comfortable with your body, you can expect a compatible man to be comfortable with and appreciative of it. If not, get some help with acceptance or look at the surgical options. IMO, the male friend was spot-on and I would have said the same thing. Remember, it's about *compatibility*, not stretch marks :)

Thats just it I am comfortable with myself apart from this one thing, I think its probably because ive only had 2 intimate partners since my Son was born 10 yrs ago, so maybe have lost a bit of confidence! Thank you for your reply :)

Katt Williams can answer your question.

Stretch marks come from one of two things..either you was small and got big, or you was big and done got small...either way we f*ckin.

Point is, it's a much bigger deal to you than it is to any guy getting in the sack with you.

I got pregnant!!! Not massively huge tho! Stretch marks on the tummy run in our family when pregnant, just the way it is I suppose :o

Try this. With your next intimate partner, focus on him when making love and forget about what you and your stretch marks look like. I can assure you he won't be thinking of them (or perhaps even note they exist) when making love with you. Rinse and repeat and soon they will be forgotten, accepted as who you are as comfortably as the rest is accepted.

Guys won't care about your stretch marks if they have any common sense. Everyone who lives long enough gets scars of one kind or another.

My ex had them from weight fluctuations in her younger years, and I didn't care one bit about them...I thought she was the most beautiful person in the world...regardless of the marks...so if the guy cares about you (and isn't a complete douche), he won't care about the marks...

I had an ex that use to tell me that he thought my stretch marks were sexy. I think he liked the imperfetion even though I had many more.

Not true. You also get stretch marks from growth spurts when your a teenager. Although, mine were from loosing weight. But I was never a "big" girl.

Any self respecting guy could hardly care less whether you have stretch marks or not. It's something you cannot control really, like having straight, or curly hair. I wouldn't worry about it, as long as you're comfortable with you I don't see what the problem is.

Gemmi, Any guy who is bothered by stretch marks isn't worth your time. I've dated/slept with women who have had very pronounced strech marks, and the sex was just as good as those without them.;)

My ex had stretch marks and I really didn't mind them at all.

What annoyed me was her overemphasis on them though no matter how many times I tell her I don't care. Don't focus so much on the things you can't change and worry about the things you can.

"Them stretch marks on your hips is just bungie cords bringin' you back when you dip..."

GIRL- you're a female! You're the sexiest thing on this planet. You have boobies and an ass, and you're soft and have silky hair... I love being a girl. You should too.

You know how sometimes a "dress can wear you," instead of "you wear that dress"? babe, WEAR THEM. They're part of you, your skin, your sensuality. They have been with you longer than any guy- love yourself, honey!

It is way more important to be an honest person and fit (in good shape). If you have those two previous things, I can't imagine any guy who is dumb enough to care about your stretch marks. I wouldn't, just get those first two things right.

I have stretch marks because I grew so quickly (heightwise), and while they are not pretty, people don't notice them. You know they are there, but most people won't notice them.

I sort of am. Yes. Don't know why.

Would it totally turn you off if you were with a woman?

I have stretch marks from a growth spurt, and I embrace them wholeheartedly. I call them my "tiger stripes". Guys love that. ;)
