EasyHeart Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 What's the difference? I was talking to a friend who met a guy 6 weeks ago and says that she is 'in love' and has found her 'soulmate'. I laughed at her, and she go mad. What's the difference between infatuation and love? How do you tell them apart? And how long do they last?
PrettyinInk Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 love is different for everyone, there is no set amount of time it takes to fall in love. lust is generally a need to be around someone/ the inability to take your hands off that person, etc. your friend had every right to be insulted by you laughing, i can understand why you would think it is impossible for love to happen so quickly, perhaps you are cynical, or perhaps your friend is always falling in love with some guy or another, but the proper reaction to a friend sharing his or her happiness with you, is to be kind and supportive and happy for them. that is what friendship is about.

I'd have to agree, even though I would have probably chuckled too. lol
pandagirl Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 For me: lust = sexual attraction infatuation = obsession love = peaceful, secure, comforting
