Looking for input from men and ladies alike...

I'm a bit of a hair dye addict....I'm naturally blonde, but prefer anything else to my natural color...It's been my experience that men seem to take brunettes and redheads more seriously than blondes....That whole dumb blonde stereotype seems to deter people from considering a blonde for a relationship as opposed to a one night stand...

I actually did an experiment some time ago...well not really an experiment, more like an observation...When I was straight blonde, i felt like a piece of raw steak thrown to a pack of horny wolves....guy after guy would try to take me home...However, when I was brunette or red headed, it seemed to garner alot more respectful attention from people, and basically just some good company and conversation as opposed to being objectified...

So, ladies have you noticed this??? And gentlemen, do you stereotype women based on hair color? Is there a general preference among men, or do I just live in a highly douchebaggy area?

How old are you? If you're under 25, you're just dealing with immature young men for the most part. If not, then I guess you live in an area with more douchebags than usual.

Personally I don't treat blondes and different than brunettes, but as far as personal taste goes, redheads are hot.

Is hair color the only thing you changed? Because lighter hair color is definitely something that will get you noticed more, but it's usually attitude, demeanor, clothing and make-up choices that give people cues on how to treat us.

Lauren Bacall is a blonde, as was Marilyn Monroe. Certainly, there was a huge difference in the way people saw them. Hilary Clinton is a blonde, and I doubt guys were treating her like a ho when she was dating.

Not that I think it's important, but I'm 28...And I live on the Southside of Chicago, where being drunk is a type of birthright....Sometimes I wonder if I'm meant to be somewhere else...I don't jive with people here anymore...Everyone's too worried about gettin wasted and talkin trash to each other...It's almost like there's no happy medium...There's the goody goody god people, and there's the pub crawlin pricks....Not that I don't enjoy some (real) beers every now and then, but jeez...You ask people around here what they like to do, and they respond "drink". Drinking is not a freaking hobby...

The only thing that was different each time was that I was just a little more bubbly when I had fresh new hair...Everyone loves gettin a haircut or dye, and it helps ya feel good, too. But other than that, my style and makeup haven't changed, nor has my attitude...I'm still the same old me, just with different hair every 3 months...

You can give the North Side a try. Not that they don't drink there, too, but there are at least other options on activities.

If you want a big change, move to San Francisco. I always called it the land of misfit toys - people who don't fit in where they're from, tend to move there and be as individual as they like.

So very true; I'm a redhead in San Francisco and it continues to astonish me to the wide variety of people in this city.

Most men consider blonds to be more attractive. And that would lead to getting more attention when you are blond.

I don't think it has anything to do with one being marriage material over the other.

My ex was a natural blonde and we were together 3.5 years. She was the first GF that I lived with.

Hair color means nothing.

I never really thought that hair colour made a difference to how you are perceived until recently...

I moved in with a new house mate a few months ago. She is very tall (6'2) blond and slim. I am slim, 5'7 and brunette. I would say we are both the same level of attractiveness. When we go out we both get attention from guys however, this was something she pointed out and I didnt agree with at first but now I totally see what she means, she always ends up getting attention from really sleazy guys who either have girlfriends, dont call, or lose interest once she says she doesnt want a one night stand, whereas I get the nice guys who take my number and always follow up by asking me out on a date etc. She said that she feels like I get the guys who are actually looking to meet someone and she gets the guys who are just after a night of fun with a tall blonde. and the more it happens the more Im seeing that she is right!

I have experienced this.

I'm blonde. My ex boyfriend told me he had a thing where he liked to date brunettes and screw blondes.

That was nice to hear, obviously.

I'd say redheads>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>blondes, and I'll tell you why:

Gwen Stacy died. Mary Jane didn't.

This person wins the thread, anybody who doesn't get it needs to increase their nerd-factor.

Blonds tend to date around more and have more guys going after them. That's why they are less serious material.

Red heads are the in between of blonds and brunettes. Red heads that are fit are mind blowingly sexy, I can hardly stand it just thinking about them :D.

Are you saying that Spider Man prefers red heads? Mary Jane was my favorite comic girl of all time.

Actually spiderman prefers blondes but he was emotionally scarred and fell in love with a redhead by accident until he made a pact with satan to forget that he was ever married so nobody could ever hurt him by going after his redhead.

Is that carrying this a little too far?

sorry now I have an urge to go read more comic books...

Have you considered that maybe it's you that's acting different with different hair colors, maybe you're sending out different vibs and attracting different types of guys.
