Why is there such a lack of education on how to pick up women?

You don't get it. We live in TODAY. Sometimes men stay home. Sometimes a woman is a great role model for children of any gender. My son has not had a sitter that wasn't family. Some sitters are also capable of being a good influence on children of both genders.

What you are talking about is a separate subject from the skills modern men need to learn to identify with modern women so that they can successfully get one to date them. If you'd like to talk about the ways men and women contribute to ill raised children you should start a thread about it.

I still say that men who can speak to women as equal individuals will find better success. All you've contributed is suggestions of rape and captivity. Dominant males are their own problem. Well rounded, confident men get the spoils. Who cares what your dominant men want? The rest of us (reasonable men and women) get along better without them anyway.

And what do women need to learn? Why is it always the man must learn this, the man must learn that to deal with modern women? Why is it not the other way around? Women don't seem to feel the need to learn how to function with the modern man, but we're expected to do this for women? Come on!

Look at the thread title. "Pick up" infers action on the male's part and inaction "being picked up" on the female's part. If we accept this dynamic to be true, objects which are at rest tend to remain at rest unless and until acted upon by an outside force. They intrinsically are required to do nothing. My advice is to not disturb them ;)

Good question. What do you think women need to learn? And how do you define modern men?

We're getting a bit off topic, but I'll still post this :)

You either have it or you don't. No amount of education on this matter will do anything.

not true. I am living proof. I went from never having a GF through Highschool to now having the greatest girl in all existence.:bunny:

When did I say that women don't?

Read the thread title and figure out for yourself why I'm not talking about what women need to learn.

I have to agree completely.

The things women today are capable of doing such as driving a car, using kitchen ware, etc, is all because men invented ways for them to be able to use it or tools to make it easier to do. Women have this attitude that they don't need us and we're obsolete, but 90% of the things they do is because men got hurt, injured, and even killed inventing them.

I can bet that before the advent of pots and pans men did all the cooking (and today men are the best chefs anyway), and they probably got burned, cut and other injuries in the process, until we figured out a way to make it safe for women. Men pave the roads so women can drive on them. ETC ETC . It's just the way nature is, which makes feminist BS about "WE DONT NEED MEN" obsolete. Men are adventurers, that is why we are inventors.

You don't need men only because modern capitalist society is mediocre, artificial and made safe by men. Coal doesn't mine itself, lumber doesn't cut itself, steel doesnt mill itself, wars don't fight themselves think of the most dangerous jobs that are literally the foundation of our lifestyle and you'll find men either occupy these positions completely , or almost completely, and no , it's not because we love these jobs and want to exclude women.

Women have no gratitude for what we do for them , but we do it anyway, because regardless of what women say, men are the bastions of civilization.

I agree - many men of yesterday were thinkers, inventors, adventurists, and heroes. The men of today who wish to be adored and thanked by women for what men did in the past are dreaming.

I'd also like to point to some famous female scientists who paved the way for many scientific breakthroughs - Marie Curie, who pioneered the field of radioactivity and died from radiation exposure and Rosalind Franklin, whose research was used by Watson & Crick to formulate their theory of DNA and only received less credit than they because of her early death.

It's not that women sat back to let men build society, anxiously awaiting the day when men have made life sufficiently easy before we took over control of the world. The only reason there are fewer female inventors in history is because women weren't given the same opportunity as men.

And when are wars ever great things? Men have set society back by CENTURIES because of their stupid wars. Who burned down the Library of Alexandria? Who put Galileo under house arrest and inhibited his studies? Who persecuted scholars and eliminated education in the most populated country in the world in the Cultural Revolution? What do all the greatest war criminals/committers of genocide have in common? Oh right. Men.

(I'm aware this is off topic from the OP's post, but I thought it was amusing enough to comment on.)

How about instead of making men obsolete we just gather the women, throw them in cages, and just use them for reproduction. How would you like that? Because that is essentially what you want to do to men.

What kind of psycho women do you date? What would drive you to think this?

Mate, a lot of guys never had a girlfriend in high school.

I'm glad you're happy with your girl but I very much doubt reading books helped you get there.

Learning how to get a girl isn't like studying for maths... It isn't something you could teach in schools.

That this is a man's world, it will always be a man's world, that when it takes getting something done that needs to be done, even if it means losing his life or suffering injury, it has to be done by men because it is their duty to do the right thing.

And the funny thing is you have no idea what the 'right' thing to do is, and you claim that it will be different for every man. Tell me, what man can sit there and watch his family suffer when another man takes from him, over-charges him, makes him a slave to a wealthy class, takes away his job, over taxes him, steals his land? Women will point the blame at the man and say "well it's the man's fault he's in this situation, do something about it." So men do things about it, and women aren't going to like it, but it's something that needs to be done so that maybe, just maybe, our children, their children, are born free and not debt slaves to some master.

Why don't you feel 'humans' can share responsibility for the well-being of family? Are women simple spectactors of men's actions in your scenario?

(I'm starting to suspect you're trolling espec10001.)

Quite frankly, the whole idea of "how to pick up girls" as a skill or an art is complete bull****. The idea comes because there's so many girls out there who hold standards too high of men, and men know this. It's why most men have trouble simply approaching a girl. They think "I have to impress her or make her laugh in the first 30 seconds or I will never get with her ever!" It's why people mention "Girls know within the first 30 seconds of meeting a guy what they want in them." It's all true, and it's all bull****. A guy shouldn't have to feel the pressure to approach a girl. I know there are girls out there who are open to simply meeting guys, and all you have to do is say "Hi" and start asking question to learn about them. Why can't there be more like that?

I don't agree with everything he says but there are some grains of truth in what espec says. This is not to say that men create everything but women in general still hold men responsible for being the alpha and protecting which means using violence if needed. The ideal world to me would actually be the equal partnership promoted by some women in this thread but most women tend to get bored in those kind of relationships and tend to walk all over progressive and enlightened men. Dominant males are actually at the top of the dating food chain.

Women are welcome to join if they want. But they won't. They'll just yell at the men to do something. "Be a man", "man up", that's what they'll say. Ok, well being a man sometimes isn't pretty and nice and can get quite ugly, you cannot have it both ways!

I have the same prolem im pretty shy..In general im a laid back guy even with friends if its a large group i sometimes get lost in the shuffle but i do talk a decent amount.

When it comes to approaching women that i dont know i just get nervous and have no idea what to say to somebody i dont know at all and how to start a conversation without coming of creepy..

I dont think im attractive anyway so it probably wouldnt make a differnece but shyness has stopped me from even finding out if any women are attracted to me at all..

I am just saying from experience but I think you need to learn to get comfortable with talking to strangers and female strangers. Its all about confidence and not caring what they think. From what I have seen you can pretty much say anything to get it rolling. But you have to have the confidence to pull it off and than keep it rolling.

I think you should read some of the pick up artist sites. I am not suggesting a system or anything like that. But I do think you have to a certain amount of confidence and attitude. IMO that is mostly what they are trying to do via their so-called systems. I dont buy into this hypnosis stuff or these canned routines. Some of this stuff is just too freaking weird.

I have had self confidence issues my whole life. Questioning whether I was attractive and whether they liked me or not. But this goes back to what I was saying, this is really my issue not their issue. It can be overcome, the question is what are you willing to do to break it and get past it.

I suggest Dale Carnegie. There is a class called "How To Win Friends and Influence People". It was written in the 1920s. This stuff works and is applicable to every day life. Its fairly benign and totally non-sexual. But thats ok because it will help you speak to strangers.

The big thing is you need to change how YOU view things.

Take this for example: instead of asking yourself will she like me? say to yourself, its not a question of her liking me but rather do I like her? or Why wouldnt she like me, I am a great guy.

This is a different way to look at it. Its like that thing about the glass being 1/2 full or 1/2 empty.

I agree. People are either selective about finding a partner, or else they have a grab-bag mentality. Most PUAs have a grab-bag mentality, but people who have been burned tend to become selective.
