Green Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 I don’t believe leagues exist when it comes to dating. Dating is unlike a sport. People like to think of dating as a competition, and I assume the reference comes from the different leagues of competition that exist in sports. Society does paint certain people to be more desirable most notably the wealthy when it comes to men and the young when it comes to women. This though I believe is a different concept then leagues and should not be used as an excuse not to live the life you want.
Arasae Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 I believe there are dividing lines between people.. so.. in essence, "leagues" (in my mind) exist, just not as a sport metaphor. The concept is definitely flawed, however--I think wealth and monetary stuff are emphasized too highly when it really comes down to "leagues". Lifestyle choices and activities we choose to pursue define them more than anything, in my humble opinion. But, I could be wrong.
Author Green Posted April 24, 2010 Author Posted April 24, 2010 Yes there are dividing lines, but nothing ventured nothing gained. I just find it said when I hear about men who are afraid to attempt anything romantic with a woman because of some percieved inadequecy. I guess women can be this way too, but I more often spot men talking about it on this forum. I do recall a few threads though about women who either were upset that they were in a relationship they felt out of their league in or a woman afraid to start a relationship with a man who aproached her who in her mind was too good looking. In the end people are so afraid of failure they use any excuse, and I don't even find this to be a valid excuse because in my mind leagues don't exist in the world of dating. Even if the odds are against you that is no excuse in my mind from trying if thats what you want.
skydiveaddict Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 forget about leagues and go for the one you want. That's my two cents

Author Green Posted April 24, 2010 Author Posted April 24, 2010 Unfortunately there are. The bottom league is apparently those who have not had an LTR by 30. That is the "give up you are never going to have an LTR" leauge. I live life in the present. So the past does not have to equal the future!
