I want to know how you guys handle birthdays. Not yours, theirs. And I don't mean LTRs.

I, for one, abhor birthdays in general. I love celebrations, I hate gifts. And I don't really like to get them either. So when people's birthdays come, I usually give them money or gift cards so they can handle it themselves.

Only problem is, I don't see gift cards as appropriate gifts for that relationship.

Well, we usually forget about them until the last minute where we are banging on the window begging the flower store guy to let us in 15 minutes after he closed and looking for a 24 hor drug store .

But in all seriousness it's the thought that counts. As long as you are showing that you care and it's thoughtful the possibilities are endless.

I'm a good cook, I bake really beautiful cakes (not professional grade but better than most people I suppose). I don't celebrate my own birthday, I don't often wish my relatives a happy birthday, I don't ever wish my friends a happy birthday, but since GFs generally expect it, I bake cakes. It's cheaper than flowers and when you make a really nice cake and write something sweet on it then it means a whole lot more.

I take them out to dinner.

Usually to a restuarant that brings out parade of staff with a cake & some monstrosity of a prop for the birthday girl to wear.

Then they sing happy birthday to her. :)

The steak house & japanese restaurants closed so no more Viking helmet or samuri hair.

guess i'll have to find somewhere else to take a chick for her birthday.

by the way I meant a 24 hour store not a 24 hor store
