I was with my friends and going over some of the recent bad experiences I have had dating, and one of my firends basically said, I'm not dating classy women.

The discussion went on from there. His definition is a woman who sleeps around for the sake of enjoyment isn't classy, was an example. I don't necessarily agree with the blanket statement.

However I do think that a woman in her late 30's to 40s, whose recreation is constantly going out to bars and clubs, partying and getting all drunk and sometimes trashed without any other type of recreational outlet isn't very classy, but I'm sure there would be some people who would disagree with me there as well.

So how would you define classy or a person with class? This goes for the both women and men. I would love to hear your perpectives.

fishnets is usually a bad sign. LOL!

Actually, it's not what people do that denotes class, it's how they do it.

A woman in her late 30's getting smashed every weekend has problems not lack of class.

A woman can sleep around and have class actually, if she's very picky about whom it is she sleeps with. When I went through my "single and in college for the first time ever" phase I slept with a few guys. Thing was I was extremely picky about it and every guy I slept with jumped through hoops to impress me. Basically it was like they were all courting me in order to get in bed with me. So yeah I don't think class is based on what you do, but how you do it, as phineas mentioned.

Classy people respect themselves, and treat others with respect.

Classy behavior applies to both men and women.

-Has a certain standard of manners, especially in public

-Treats people with respect and in turn commands to be treated in kind

-Refrains from public drunken-ness

-Knows the difference between sweet PDA's and making out/making a scene

-Doesn't go overboard with cursing

-Keeps gossiping to a minimum

-Has some degree of sophistication/knowledge base

-Who they sleep with is their business, and it's kept that way

Classy is an attitude...having a kind of understated chic; wit; dressing well; ability to adapt to any social situation; elegance; ability to navigate any conversation; engaging others in a conversation and making others feel at ease; imparting information but remaining a little mysterious; someone who is a little different from other people that you have met; the kind of woman that leaves you wanting a little bit more, but by being themselves, not by playing games.
