laRubiaBonita Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 it depends on the dress, the alterations needed, and the schedule of your seamstress..... i only had my initial fitting, then the follow up to make sure it was right & i had 2 dresses. but i love my seamstress- i have taken other stuff for her, she is awesome and very reasonably priced!
D-Lish Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 Unlike LB's suggestion, I don't know any bride who had had hers fitted more than once, unless she got it fitted months before the wedding and then lost/gained significant weight - PARTICULARLY if you have a corset bodice. My friend's wedding is May 22nd, and her fitting is next weekend (as in May 1st). Good choice LB- you will make a beautiful bride- can't wait to see the pics!
Els Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 You look lovely, LB. I'm curious about all the shoe talk though. Is it even possible to catch a GLIMPSE of shoes through that long dress?? I'd always thought brides could probably wear flipflops and noone would even see a thing, heh.

The only time anyone really sees the brides shoes is when the groom takes the garter off her leg. But that's for like 5 seconds.

The bride sits in a chair in the middle of the dancefloor, the groom lifts her dress (sometimes so that her leg is exposed, othertimes he just shoves his head up there ), removes the garter (using hands, or sometimes teeth), and then tosses it to a group of single guys.
