So I was dating this girl for 2 and a half years. We started dating after our freshman year (highschool) and got all the way to the beginning of Senior year. Things started off great senior year. Yeah, I was 18 and she was 17, but we thought we had found our soulmates. So about a month into Senior year she breaks up with me, and I beg for her back and all that good stuff all the way up until Christmas Break, when I found out she cheated on me. Full out, had sex with another guy while we were still dating for 2 plus years. So I was pissed and stopped talking to her. I thought I was over her and have thought that for the past 4 months now. But I recently started "talking" to this other chick and things were great! We both liked eachother and were pretty much dating. But then, out of the blue, I couldn't go on anymore. I all of a sudden couldn't stop thinking about my ex. I knew that I still loved her :( I don't want to love her anymore!!! I hate her for what she did to me, but I can't stop loving her for some reason. It's really aggravating and I can't get her out of my head. Whyyyyyy?!?!

Because when you bond with someone emotionally, physiological changes take place in your brain that linger long after the relationship ends. There is nothing much to do but wait. If you find someone new, that may well get you on the road to recovery faster.

Also, try to keep this in a broader life perspective. The odds of finding your soul mate--and there's no such thing as a "soul mate," by the way--while you're in high school are extremely small. It will likely be many, many years before you meet the women you will eventually end up with.
