Two years ago I was here, posting every day. My heart was broken, I cried every day. I responded to every ambivalent text message with the hope that it meant there was a future. I waited by the phone.... I went back to him on a NSA arrangement, only to get hurt all over again....

I waited as our "time out" went on and on and on.....

I know what you are feeling, and what you are going through.

Its about a year and a half later -

If you hold out and move on, I promise you this: there will come a day, right after you've stopped thinking about him every day, where you will be walking down the street, all cute, having put on a nice dress and makeup - and there he will be.

And he will say "How's it going" and you will say - "Oh, I was just coming back from this fabulous place, on my way back to work --- where, by the way, I have just gotten a giant raise and promotion.... oh, gee... and I forgot to tell you, I'm moving into a new house (you can leave the new fiance out of it... he'll know....)

And he'll be looking all grubby, and have gained 25 pounds -- and you'll say "and how is it going with you...." - and he'll sort of mumble something about work.

And you'll say "It was nice to see you...." - and you will walk away. And it will be just fine!

I promise!

That's a lot of unique circumstances to promise. You can promise that those things happened to YOU, but the chances that even 2 of those will happen to someone else, is probably about 2%. lol

Actually, about 9 or 10 months after my most recent ex and I broke up (and I'd been ignoring her for the same amount of time) I was walking down the street in a fine-tailored suit, with a new haircut and lined up, having lost 50lbs and looking and feeling great. My ex pulled up in her car and yelled out my name, but I ignored it and kept walking past her, on the way to a new date. She flipped and started calling my phone, but I ignored it. Haven't heard from her since, and I'm glad.
