dannym1982 Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 I have been dating this girl for about three months now and she has this stalker ex-bf that is starting to become a nuisance. She was upfront about him after about 3 weeks of us going out on dates etc. In the meantime we have become a couple but now this guy is getting on my nerves. The other day she came over for the evening and he was calling and texting her phone all hours of the night and a couple of times the next afternoon. Now I have never asked to read the text messages b/c I am not the jealous type but from what she says he is telling me is "baby i want you back in my life etc." Supposedly this has been going on for 2 years on and off since they broke up. I have asked her if she'd like me let me talk to him, and she said the last guy she was seeing talked to him and it made things worse.I told her to change her number and she said she can't because she is waiting on these two jobs that are supposed to be contacting within the next month and she wants to wait to hear from them and will change her number next month. Is something fishy here ? Any advice? Thanks in advance
eraser Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 I think she might enjoy the drama or the attention to some degree. If she really found him to be a disagreeable nuisance, she would've changed her phone number and contact details sometime during the two previous years.
D. It Is Written Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 She's probably still talking to him and keeping him on the line, giving him false hope. If she's been clear that she doesn't want him, this shouldn't be happening.

Hey eraster I thought the same thing maybe she enjoys the attention. and to ditiswritter: supposedly she changed her # once and he found it again somehow. She says she has not answered any of his text messages or calls in over a year. Any advice on what to do?
skydiveaddict Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 I kinda agree. something strange is going on here

Seriously, if she really disliked him contacting her, she would change all her contact details. I had a stalker-esque ex-boyfriend once. Not only did I change my phone number, I changed my online contact details. Hell, I even moved. He wasn't really that bad...he was just annoying. And I didn't want to talk to him. Period.
eraser Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Oh, and as far as advice: if I were you, I would see what her next move would be. Watch if she makes moves to change her number next month. If she doesn't and makes more excuses that you haven't heard yet, you might have a problem. Part of me wonders if the reason why she doesn't want you talking to him is because you might scare him off. If she really likes the drama/attention, she wouldn't want that, now would she?

I know one of the jobs she interviewed for already and they are supposed to let her know by the end of april if she got the position or not. Should I wait it out until the end of April and see if she changes her # after hearing from them? Or what?

I am going to take your advice and wait until the end of the month and see if she changes her #! thanks so much!

If she allows all that time to go by and doesn't make make moves to change her number...there is a problem.
linwood Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Is something fishy here ? Any advice? Thanks in advance The only reason this is STILL going on is because she is leading him on in some manner. Read some of those text messages. Snoop a little and you`ll find some very interesting ****.
JustLooking123 Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 It is my understanding that you can have certain people/numbers blocked by calling your phone company. Perhaps she should look into this? That way, she wouldn't have to change her number (which can be a hassle).
