We just got back from a wonderful vacation to a tropical resort. It was very romantic and other than my accountant telling me I owe money on my tax return  I had a perfect time. :p Ate lots of fresh fruit, fresh fish, drank too many pina coladas, and just let time side by for awhile.

We are relaxed, golden, and ready to get back to life. Sigh . . . time went so fast. Nothing like looking out on the blue water, breeze in the air, laying in a hammock with the loveliest man on the planet.

I am glad you had a nice time. I am fortunate in that I live only a few miles from a beautiful beach myself. :)

Sorry about that OWoman! :confused::)

I am having trouble adjusting especially in the evening. Just sitting back, time moves slowly, feeling the breezes and just. sitting. still. It was so nice and so differently to our regular lives.

Oh to be independently wealthy!

But, for those who can do it all the time, it loses it's allure.

I live very near the beach, but I visit it far less frequently than I should.

Come to think of it, my sweetheart and I have a date night this week (LMAO.. our A relationship is so much like a M relationship, that we actually do scheduled "date nights" now to get grown up down time away from the kids like my MC suggested all those years ago with now xH. Otherwise we are just so "domestic" that we "forget" to go out, just the two of us. And instead we hang out at home all the time doing "family nights". *I am not sure if I should laugh or cry at that!!!) I think instead of dinner at a restaraunt I will suggest a picnic on the beach to watch the sun set...

Thanks for inspiring me to remember the beauty outside my own door!!

That sounds like fun! I love vacationing with my now husband and he proposed while we were on holiday. Did you suspect he might propose or that he will soon? Any hopes a little one was made?

Nope on both fronts but still a great time. :p We are no where close to proposing and there is protection on both sides to prevent the latter! (Though he says he loves the practice!). No, he is still married, divorcing but married, so nope. To be honest I have no interest in marrying any time soon. While some times I get caught up in the ages, especially we have discussed children, but we have a whole lot more dating to do before we look at taking things to the next step. :)

My pardons! I saw your thread title in the New Posts page and do not know your personal history. And your post didn't indicate anything about the limit of options to your interactions with this man.

I was just happy to read what I though was a post that didn't involve hardship or struggle. Sorry.

Got it, what is the age difference?

WF - Sorry I meant my age and I guess my possible child bearing years, not ages between him and I. That is only about 5 years. Also he has had a vastomy so there is a limit on the reversal so something else we discuss.

So the likelihood of us being able to conceive is limited but I have a bit of a c'est la vie attitude, what is meant to be will be. I have never been one driven to have children and while I have played around with the idea of potentially having them with him if it doesn't happen I am fine with it. He has children already so that is lovely enough. I think that might be the perfect fit of parenting for me. :)

Sally - No it is perfectly alright! :D Your post just caught me by surprise and made me chuckle, thank you for that. We have some stress in our relationship but not hardship. We are going strong though he does have some things to resolve. But what relationships in life don't have a bit of rockiness every now and then, huh? ;) No he makes me very happy and couldn't ask for a better counterpart for me. Every time I see him I smile, he really is just an absolutely beautiful man.

True enough! I think I had more hardship in my M than in my R with MM.

Got it, I'm glad you had a nice trip with your sweetie.:)

WF - I agree. While things were more complacent in my M there were also less highs that really make it all worthwhile. But, at that point in my life, I needed a marriage/relationship like that. I owe a lot to my ex husband.

But now, this relationship fulfills me, nourishes me and challenges me. This is my "adult" relationship.

Thanks the trip was great and we got some great photos! Can't wait to start planning our next one. :)
