MrsPeaSoup Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Please, If you want to keep yourself from real pain, DO NOT watch The Notebook! I've just watched it and I wished I didn't. Lying in tears all over again. I do not wish you the same:love:, so therefore the warning once more: DO NOT WATCH THE NOTEBOOK!
Toki Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Us guys call it "the movie that will get you laid". Personally, I think it's sappy and ridiculous, but hey, I continue to get lucky as long as I watch it with a partner, so in that respect it's a good movie.
DontWorryBHappy Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Lol, I really thought this thread was for me. I watched it the other day and it prompted me to send my ex the sappiest message I ever wrote in my life. Yeah.

Odyssey Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Notebook is mediocre. As a general rule to all those broken-hearts out there: you should avoid romantic movies and songs (until you feel better)! If you wanna see a movie, grab a comedy or something...laughing is good medicine.
EmperorR Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 i rmemeber after my ex fiance dumped me I watched that thinking she would come back:laugh:
djentleman Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 I've contemplated watching it with a good attitude, as of late -- mind you, I wouldn't watch it with expectations. I do share the sentiments regarding its mediocrity. But, I must confess... I enjoyed it the second time I watched it.
D-Lish Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Why would anyone watch the notebook to begin with? I'm a chick, and I've never seen it, nor have I desired to see it or any movie like it. Chick flicks are ridiculous! I have never understood why, when people are in pain, they choose to perpetuate it, or re-visit it over and over. When I lose someone, I avoid anything that will remind me of what I am going through. I can't imagine losing the love of my life and then sitting down and watching a movie about losing the love of your life...or listening to sad music about losing the love of your life...
Citizen Erased Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Nobody should watch it. I think I lost at least half my brain cells when I did.
Leia Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 I don't even know what's the big deal about The Notebook. It's a typical chick flick. Nothing new. Rich girl meets poor guy, fall in love, parents disapprove bla bla bla. Yawn.
