hibiscus21 Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 Hello- My boyfriend and I have been together for 11 months. Our 1 year anniversary is coming up, I told him I was excited about it and asked him if he was. He replied "what is there to be excited about, its just a one year marker of you being a pain in my butt". After he said that I asked him why he is still with me since I'm such a pain, and he said cause he loves me. Also, he seems to have little patience with me lately, like little things that never seemed to bother him are frustrating him so badly. For example, we were gonna watch a movie, and I told him I wanted to take a shower first. That made him so irritated. I know that no one is a mind reader, but any insight as to why he is getting edgy and feels like I'm such a horrible pain in his butt? Anything I can/should do to help him, and/or the situation.

Since youve given only one example, I can only assume you have to start standing up for yourself. Tell him what he's saying isnt cool. Talk to him about why he means that, if he does, and then..if you hang around him alot, maybe get your own life. Hang with your friends more, stay out of his view so he can miss you.

He sees you getting a life, he'll wonder why you dont need him anymore. He'll wonder why you dont revolve your life around him anymore. You should be doing that regardless. But then again, I dont know if he's a jerk and youre not disclosing that. Then it would be a totally different story.
dazzle22 Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 Behind every joke is a 'kernel' of truth, and I would take this as a big warning sign that he is losing attraction to you. I agree with the other poster that his irritation about little things is also a danger sign.. He said you were a pain in the butt. That usually implies that a guy thinks you are a nag, or too high maintenance, things like that....Think about the way you are with him. You can probably come up with things you know he has been irritated with. If you are constantly with someone, they can't 'miss you.'
