I went on a blind date on Monday. I didn't go into it with any particular expectations; I'm not actively seeking out anything serious at the moment (although, if I met the right person I wouldn't be afraid to show my feelings). I ended up having a really good time. I thought the guy was cute, smart, funny, and we had a lot in common. When the date ended he said he had fun and I agreed. About an hour later he sent me a text saying "That was honestly great, we should do that again." I agreed but we didn't make any plans.

His birthday is this week and I know he has a lot of stuff going on. Should I ask him to hang out or should I wait for him to ask me? I don't want to come on too strong because I'm generally looking to keep things casual (it seems like most of the guys I've met recently are specifically looking for something serious, and I'm just not there right now). But I really did like hanging out with him. So what's next?

(Also, sorry if I sound kind of dense about this stuff. This is the first decent date I've been on since my last relationship ended, and I'm a bit rusty.)
