dfbrooks888 Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 I am dating a girl now for 14 months, about 6 months ago we were lying on the couch and I was practically asleep and I am not sure if she was also, but she said "i love you" with her eyes closed. When I heard this I perked my head up and tried to get her attention "hey" "hey." She kept her eyes closed, I just hugged and kissed her and laid back down. She has never said it since. How should I take this? I am a stupid guy, lol.
make me believe Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 Do you love this girl? If so, you should tell her. I think it's kinda strange you've been together for over a year and the only I love you that's been exchanged happened when you were both half asleep! Maybe she feels insecure because you didn't respond with "I love you too." I know if I said ILY to somebody and he didn't reciprocate, I wouldn't say it again until he did.
Author dfbrooks888 Posted April 7, 2010 Author Posted April 7, 2010 I just don't understand if she meant it when she said it, then why didn't she wake up so we could share that moment, instead of acting like she was asleep? I don't understand.
make me believe Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 If she said it, I think she meant it. But is she young, or inexperienced in relationships? It's possible that she felt self-conscious, or that she thought that by not immediately responding with I love you too, you didn't feel the same way.
Author dfbrooks888 Posted April 7, 2010 Author Posted April 7, 2010 I am not sure what her experience is really, I never asked about all her BF's. She is 28 and she was engaged at one point but called it off. I want to tell her, but recently there has been alot of stuff going on in our personal lives.
