I have a friend that I once considered my best friend. But over the past couple of months he has been really starting to become vein and selfish. Sometimes he doesn't respond to my phone calls. He make a lot of white lies and says he is busy or makes up excuses for not returning his calls. Lately he hasn't been making an effort to hang out when I ask him to come out with me, yet he offers me to go do stuff with him. But I do go and hang out with him and I know he is always on his phone texting or calling people 24/7. So its starting to get annoying...

What should I do about this? I almost feel like doing what he does so he sees how annoying it is.

If this has just started, then maybe he just wants some space or some time apart from you. Maybe he has other things on his mind or stuff going on. In that case, just give him some space. If this has been going on for a while now, it may be time to branch off and hang with other friends. It seems to be a bit one-sided, with him only calling you when he is available and then texting/calling friends while you are hanging out. (A bit of a fair weathered, RUDE friend of sorts.) Maybe "disappear" for a while- don't call, text, e-mail, etc. and see if he notices. In the mean time, just do your own thing and hang with other friends who enjoy your company.
