dazzle22 Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 Not asking for advice here, just posting for observations and musings and similar experiences like this!....Kind of caught me by surprise.. So, my husband and I belong to a large gym. We almost always go together but we go our separate ways at the entry because we have different workouts. But if you watch at all, you can see we are together. Well, this last week I signed us in and he went ahead, so I was about 5 feet behind him, and I saw this woman whom I consider a 'gym hunter' give him the looongest, lingering lustful look as he went past, that really took me aback. Like he was 'steak'. He did not make eye contact w/her. I mean, he is gorgeous, so I have seen women go 'atwitter' when he is around, but my gosh! She didn't see me so I was able to observe her 'in the wild'. Well, this perked my interest needless to say...the next time we go to the gym, there she is again next to her 'wing woman'... (she's always there, in skimpy outfits, yada, yada). So I take a treadmill one row back and watch. I see her scanning the gym, and then she sees HIM. And my, oh my, didn't her behavior change. Suddenly she puts on this coquettish loud laughter and carrying on, like women do when they want the men in their vicinity to look at them...does this for awhile, then abruptly leaves her friend...and parks herself a few bikes away from my husband. Hmmm... So I mention this to my gorgeous man on our way home. I didn't even have to describe her. Just said, "I saw this woman lusting after you." He laughed and said, 'oh her. Yeah. She watches me ALL the time when I work out. Who wears that much makeup to work out? There's a number of women who watch me work out in the gym"... (A NUMBER of them.???) Reeeeaallly? Well, I trust him. But sheesh! What temptations are dangling in front of him.!..And I didn't see any of this before. Guess I need to stop reading on the treadmill and browsing "LoveShack" (haha) and keep my eyes on the road!!!.... And I don't think I'll ever be 'too tired' to go to the gym with him....

There will always be a few like that. I've exchanged plenty of glances, and I guess see some women look, but unfortunately I'm sure I'm not good enough to get that severe of a lustful response. Then again, I'm older now, and for awhile trained at 5am- very few women there. What exactly is your point? that your husband is hot? that's great. I would guess that you are also very attractive, and if all is ok in your marriage, then you have nothing to worry about. Not to be insulting, but your husband sounds a bit conceited, with the the whole "number of wome watching me". I don't know, when I train, I train, socialize some-more with men, then leave. Why is he noticing them watching him so much? Like I said, I see a few myself, but if there ever were more, I wouldn't even know it. Then again, I'm harsh on myself and judge myself very critically. So, I'm not as confident as he probably is, and I'm not expecting to be ogled by "most" women-just a few Is this what wories you? his knowledge of it and amusement? Try and be seen with him a bit more, or give him a kiss there. Right now, it doesn't seem like too big an issue.

I'm 12 yrs older than him, and so that's always a bit in the back of my mind a bit, just to be aware of what is out there. Not be naive I guess.

There can be a lot of shenanigans at the gym, but I think it's mostly the married women who workout, and have issues at home and/or are not attracted to their husband. I see plenty of that-more and more lately, and it's actually nauseating after awhile. I think if this woman saw you WITH him more, her actions would change.

Some women love going after married men. dazzle22, just be aware of those type of women. You just never know. That said, I like that your husband doesn't acknowledge her That would have peeved some women off.

This has been an interesting relationship. He was quite a playboy in the past, and has a very attractive alpha male way about him. Quite a few ex's were lurking in the wings and would have swooped in had we broken up. This probably has heightened the intensity of our relationship. But it is also a bit scary.
