phineas Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Guys in well-fitting clothes....I don't think you realize how rare something simple like that actually is. Guys will go YEARS without purchasing new clothes. They will just make it work. Guilty. Actually I've knocked 8 pant sizes off my waist in the last yr. For some reason my mom kept all my old pants in her basement. I'm pulling them out because I still have 2 pant sizes to drop before i'm at 34. I'm into the mid 90's many different colored jeans box. Those went right to the good will. So did the old navy cargo pants with the button fly's. man what was I thinking. but i found some dockers, & buegal boy jeans that i've been told pass muster so i'm good for a while again. LOL! edit: what are skinny jeans?
Twenty-ten Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 NO can we add Skinny Jeans???????? Why are guys wearing these? I live in NYC and I see it all. Ooooh yes please!!!! Unless you are 21 and singing about "God and the queen" in some smokey dive bar, a guy should not be wearing skinny jeans. and the women dressed like presents. Ok I have seen that comment around here on countless occasions, and every single time I go to put on one of my frilly silk blouses or ones that tie up with a sash across the neck or the likes...I wonder "is this what they mean by dressing up as a present?" Please explain what that means!!!
phineas Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 phineas meet the skinny jean mother of all creature's great & small !!!!!!!!
Twenty-ten Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 It's all behavior not dress. A man who is cool who knows what to say and how to act brings home the girl. No way!! A guy could behave in the coolest fashion but if his outfit sucks it brings down his overall appeal and also his chances of scoring a number or a date. This comes to mind. THAT doesn't even get to buy me a drink, let alone talk to me or take me home.
Twenty-ten Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 mother of all creature's great & small !!!!!!!! :lmao::lmao::lmao: ok THAT made me :lmao::lmao::lmao: Now do you see why we beg men not to wear that?
Author counterman Posted May 28, 2010 Author Posted May 28, 2010 From what I have observed it seems as though it plays an important part. It was stated by my friend that a guy has to dress perfectly for a girl not to refuse him. I don't completely agree with that but I think there is some truth to it. There's also the other side of things how some dress really well but have no substance to back it up.
You Go Girl Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 When it comes to attraction, I think the key may be ability to be comfortable in extremes. I'm an antique junquer at this stage in my life, so jeans, no makeup, no nails, etc, is the rule these days. 80% of the clothes in my closet I no longer wear. But when a special occasion comes along this summer, I'll don this white fitting dress, white pumps, a little red lipstick perhaps, maybe even a summer hat. I'll make sure some regulars that only see me in slacks see me dolled up. Just for the shock factor, wow! She can clean up alright! Same goes for those who are always primping. If they can't be comfortable without makeup, and in jeans and a tshirt, then they should learn to be.
You Go Girl Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 Nice guys get the short end of the stick Guys who only have one line, definitely get the short end of the stick, and deservedly so. Stop sounding like a broken record! (FYI--that's an LP, as in album, a thing that spins and can get scratched and just plays the same portion over and over again....)
phineas Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 I think i've figured out that my woman friend constantly offering to go clothes shopping with me is a hint that my wardrobe needs work. LOL!

I think someone needs to just leave their stick alone & go out side & socialize.
Author counterman Posted June 9, 2010 Author Posted June 9, 2010 I've been thinking that maybe dressing down is better. I am usually in a highly social environment where most people make an effort on how they dress. Seriously, some of the clothes that people wear makes them seem of different class and yet we are all in university. I mean, I put an effort in what I wear and things like that... but do I have to be ON all the time? Can I have a day or two where I just dress down...? Actually, thinking about it now, I don't think I can! It's funny seeing my friend come in his PJs. It certainly gets heads turning.
