So tonight I told this guy I've been on a few dates with (the one who sent flowers) that I couldn't forsee it going beyond friendship. He was SO nice and understanding. What a good guy. Told me of course we can just be friends and we even talked on the phone for a little while afterwards. He even said if any guy ever gives me any trouble he'll have a word with him. ;) I just think he's such a good guy.

Is this the guy you were trying to hint to him to ask you to the party?

You tryin to pre-empt his rejection by friend zoning him? Whats that about?

This guy is not into you. You are trying to delude yourself into thinking that you have hurt his feelings by pre-emptively rejecting him. The reason why he was so nice and understanding is because he doesn't give a f.

Wow I'm impressed that you guys could remember that story. Once I'm done with a thread it's gone from my memory.

What can I say, I have no life :(

FYI we did go to the party together. The reason I told him I just want to be friends is b/c we just don't have chemistry. Don't act like you know everything when you don't.

From what you said about this guy he wasnt feelin you, didnt return text messages...he wasnt into you at all...probably sensed your neuroces. He friend zoned you long ago. You really think youre in control of this situation by ending it that way? he never stated it...Not too hard to figure out...

Sure, maybe he's a good guy. But the fact is, men almost never go out of their way to befriend women unless they are attracted to them. Almost never. I'd bet dollars to donuts this guy is hoping his just-a-friend-status is going to be temporary. I may be wrong, of course. But I doubt it.
