Article just brought me to msnbc homepage, but the same thing can be said about meeting someone in real life, it's just easier to pull off in the online scenario.

Something is seriously wrong with your browser. The link is directly to the article.

I did the same thing for me too. When I clicked on it I saw the heading about the title of the article but when the page fully loaded it reverted back to the msnbc main website.

Anyway, I had this experience once, it was horrible. The one and only time I tried online dating was when I was in college right before I met my ex boyfriend. I saw this guy's page and he was really good looking, muscular, looked like he worked out. It said he was a lawyer and worked for a prestigious firm.

We agreed to go to dinner and he would pick me up. He knocked on my door and had no idea it was him because he looked completely different from his pic. He was more overweight and looked to be about in his late 30's (he had said he was 22, I was 19 at the time) and was not attractive at all!!!

When questioning him he responded that his age must have been a "typo" and his pic was from a few years ago. He said he "guessed" he had put on a little weight. Yeah right, he was about 50 pounds heavier then in his pic. I told him I could not go out with him and shut the door!!!

Strange it went straight to the article for me.

I know several people who met dates on JDate only to find out they weren't jewish. Where I come from that's HUGE issue! JDate started off pretty exclusive, but changed after only a few years.

Now you just have to be way more discriminating before you meet in RT no matter what web site you find them on.

When I click I go to the article, but it almost immediately redirects back to the homepage.

I can say this though - I never did trust online dating. My stbxH tried it and went out with a girl who was not only much heavier and less Photoshopped than her picture, but brought her infant (which she failed to mention) along with her to the date (it was a lunch date, but still...).

He cut that one short. He didn't have much better luck after that. I would wager more than 80% of online daters lie about one thing or other.

I wonder what he lied about?
