dave22 Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 This is a question I have been pondering lately. Is it better to have the freedom of being single or to be in a life long relationship? I have been single for the majority of my adult life (am now in my early 30s) and enjoy the freedom of being able to do whatever I want. I can go out with my friends any time, I travel a lot, I have the ability to move to another city anytime (something I am considering doing once the right job comes along). Still I have always thought I would want to get married someday, and there is something appealing about having a life long relationship with the right person. I have been thinking about this more the last few days because there is someone who seems to be showing an interest in me. She is very good looking (better than I usually date), seems very nice (I still would need to get to know her better before I can say I know her personality completely). She also has a son who is about 5 years old I am guessing. Her having a kid is not a big deal should I decide I want a serious relationship with someone. The thing is I think I should decide if I want that before I ever ask her out, as I am pretty sure she wants something serious. Anyways, just wondering if anyone has any input on what they think is better, staying single or being in a long term relationship.
aerogurl87 Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 I'm one of those hopeless romantics at heart, so my answer is biased... with that said, yeah I'd take a lifelong partner over being single indefinitely any day! Someone to build a life with, someone to laugh with, someone to cry with. Because when it's all said and done and I'm staring death in the face, I'd rather have someone there to hold my hand than go into the darkness alone.

Then I start to think about all the things I want to do and wonder how it would all be possible if I were in a long term relationship.
Pyro Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 Depends on what you want. Pros and cons to both sides. If you hit it off with this woman take your time and don't make the mistake of rushing things.
